After debating between the Savage 10 TH XP and the Browning AB3, I made the decision to go with the Savage because of price and the fact that it came with a scope (not the best piece of glass, but i wasn't expecting Leupold quality). Let me just say, that I haven't shot this rifle yet, just picked it up form my FFL. When i arrived home, i was very excited to look over my new purchase and let me just say, i'm VERY impressed! This being my first Savage rifle, i really didn't expect it to look and feel this good. The wood quality, fit, and finish is, imho, just as good as higher priced rifles. Trigger feels amazing as well. Whats not noted in the product description is that the bolt is "jeweled". I didn't expect that but it was a nice surprise and looks great.
The only cons that i can find with the rifle are:
I feel that the but-pad could be more "robust" as its quite thin and not "spongy".
the bolt handle could be a tad bit longer imo.
the instruction manual is a bit hard to follow.

I've had this gun for several years now and have never had an issue with it. I guess I just forgot to write the review. The scope was on paper out of the box and it was pretty easy to get dialed in. It has stayed dialed in ever since. I've never had any issues with this gun functionally. It does what it is supposed to do. I do not regret this purchase.

First purchase with Bud's. Used a preferred FFL which made for an easy transaction. Shipped the next day after payment was received. Great mid-priced rifle ($471 plus $50 rebate). Nice wood stock, but not so nice that you won't want to use it. Plastic parts (trigger guard, bottom surround, mag baseplate) to be expected at this price-point. A bit disappointing but OK. Uses the same magazines as the Axis. Other than that, fit, finish, and quality are excellent . Legendary Savage action is smooth and feeds reliably. Great trigger! At least Savage did not cut corners on the important stuff! Shoots tight groups, more accurate than I am. The 3-position safety is smooth, positive, and easy to use. Nikon scope is pretty good. Clear glass and I like the BDC .The mounts are fine but the rings are cheap. Holding zero after 70 rounds but will replace the rings with better ones. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Highly recommend this rifle and Bud's!

Savage quality and accuracy. This is a good traditional hunting rifle and has already taken many deer. Bang and thump goes the game. No chasing or tracking it down. Deadly accurate.

This rifle was a second choice since the Remington I had placed on lay away had been recalled.After a bit of negotiation ( this rifle was more expensive than the Remington ) the rifle shipped two days later. Rifle and scope are as descibed and for the price appear to be decent buy. At the range six rounds to correct the scope and six rounds at 100 yds gave better than MOA. Am very satisfied. This is my fifth purchase from Buds and there will be more. Pleased all around with stock and service. Personal thanx to James.

I have not shot this yet. But the finish, feel, ergonomics, action, trigger pull, and all around make/accessories of this gun are phenom. for its price point. Bolt action coming up from locked is a bit heavy but this will be fixed by regular use.... coming out and going back in to lock is smooth and comfortable. Factory trigger pull is like breaking glass, just beautiful. Learning how to put in the bolt/take it out took awhile of tinkering, and the detachable magazine is a plus. The hunting scope is very sweet, great sight picture and ease of use. If you can't hit anything with this rifle, you don't know how to sight in a scope. I don't think I"ll have any problems shooting it, I've shot a Savage action with accutrigger before and loved it. Buds took awhile but their customer service is great, they really helped trouble shoot and make me feel more comfortable in my wait time.

Perfect action, perfect trigger for a “bargain” rifle. Solid transaction through Buds – couldn’t ask for better service. The rifle seems to eat anything I put through it. Would consider another purchase.

Fantastic weapon. What more can you ask for in a 500.00 rifle. Hardwood stock, magazine fed, adjustable trigger, nikon scope, and famous savage accuracy. Sub MOA accuracy using both factory and handloads. You cant buy a better rifle combo for anywhere near the price. Transaction was flawless and i love the new ups tracking on the update screen instead of just the tracking number. Thank You Buds.

I am happy with this purchase. The Rifle has a nice satin grain wood, jeweled bolt and the trigger is factory set around 3 pounds out of the box ,also the bolt handle has some knurling on it. 2 position safety is good too. Position 1 is safe but the bolt will open position 2 is safe and the bolt locked closed. Only cons I see is the trigger guard is plastic as well as the detachable magazine floor plate and catch although I don't expect this to be a problem. The muzzle is standard cut no crowned target muzzle but the rifle feeds and shoots well. At 25 yards the bullets struck the paper but had to be adjusted to zero which was expected. scope is Nikon with a bullet drop compensation reticle for 200,300,400 yards. Optics are very clear.
