This vault is excellent. The screws supplied are for hardwood only, and are too short in my opinion. Mounting it to the wood frame of the bed by my pillow was accomplished with bolts and lock nuts instead of the supplied screws, even though my bed is solid hardwood. Other than that, it is an outstanding product and has a lot of room for even a full size 1911 with rail mounted light/laser. Finally lets me have a side arm in easy reach while in bed that I also feel safe having the kids around.

Perfect for keeping our handgun conveniently close and safely away from our children. The mounting options are great and the biometric reader is definitely the way to go!
