Walther CCP Overview

New in 2104, Walther introduce the latest to its line of pistols, the CCP (concealed carry pistol). The CCP is intended by design to be for use as a concealed carry semi-automatic pistol that has a single stack magazine capable of 8+1 rounds of 9×19mm Parabellum. It is produced and intended for civilian use. The Walther PPC mechanism utilize a gas-delayed blowback system, utilizing the gas pressure from the previously fired round to escape through a small port in the barrel slightly in front of the discharging round. This is done to moderate the rearward motion of the slide to what Walther has called a “Softcoil” action. This system is indeed very similar to the model of Heckler & Koch P7. Unlike that of the Walther P99 or the Walther PPQ without an external safety, the CCP has a small manual thumb safety. The CCP also includes the additional built-in safety that operate as a firing pin block. The CCP has an overall length of 6.41 inches, its width is 1.18 inches and its height is 5.1 inches. The length of the barrel is 3.54 inches. The CCP's 5.5-pound trigger pull is certainly shooter friendly, but the 0.27 inches trigger travel is being referred to as “high”, by some.

The CCP’s sights come up quickly and are easy to align and understand. The same sights that fit the P99, PPQ, and PPS will work on the CCP, so there are already tritium night sights, target sights, and other variants available on the market.
