The Walther Arms seems to never fail in taking the next leap in innovation with each new handgun. Walther has a good reputation in producing some of the most ergonomic pistols on the market today, and the Walther PPQ is no exception. First introduced in 2011, the Walther PPQ is a semi-automatic pistol that is chambered in both .9mm and .40 S&W. The PPQ comes with three different back straps which allow it to easily adjust the grip for any hand size. As is the same with other Walther pistol, PPQ can easily broke down into parts even without the help of any tools. The latest innovation of Walther, the “Quick Defense” trigger and pre-cocked assembly allow fast, safe shooting at any time. Perhaps they should have just called it a “Glock copied trigger system”. The let-off point and trigger weight remain unchanged from the first fire to the last round. Keep in mind that the striker of the Walther PPQ variant doesn’t adjust from the back of the slide because the pistol is in constant cocked position. The Walther PPQ has three internal safeties, the trigger safety, firing pin safety and the disconnector safety. It also comes with external integrated trigger safety mechanism placed within the trigger serves as additional safety against accidental droppage. The 3-dot, polymer sight is certainly clearly visible, and will help to aid the shooter in accurately. The lengthwise slots that are laser cut into the top of the slide add a futuristic look, and the overall finish of the pistol is something that will protect it from the elements for years to come. The accessory rail lends it to a multitude of aftermarket deployments. This short recoil, locked breech, operated pistol has an overall length of 7,1” in the 9mm and 7.2” in the .40 caliber. The 9mm has a 4” barrel, while the .40 cal has a 4.2”. The width of both is 1.3” and the height is 5.3”. The trigger pull breaks cleanly at approximately 5.6 pounds, travels only .4 inches, and resets at an astounding .1 inch. Clip capacities for the 9mm model are 10, 15, and 17 rounds, while the capacity for the .40 cal are 10, 12, and 14 rounds.
