This gun works fine, but it is REALLY hard to shoot. The trigger breaks very close to the frame and its hard to get a good pull on it. Also in double action the length of pull and stiffness (It feels like about 15lbs) make it very hard to ruin your sight picture.
As far as reliability, I have ~500 rounds through it with NO FAILURES. Its basically a Glock clone with a hammer and everything works. I\'d recommend it, but beware the trigger. If you need a good trigger to shoot a gun well (like me) you might find this one too difficult.

Bought this gun some time ago and have had several periods of carrying the weapon. This is an acceptable compact 9 MM but there are better options out there. The gun has been reliable and has a good, consistent finish. Fit is average as you would expect for a gun at this price point. It has value for the price point, especially if DA/SA is your goal and you like to have a hammer on your firearm. If you can go striker fire, better options abound for just a little more money.

This is a great gun well built. Comes with 13 round and 17 round mags. Comes in a hard plastic case and not a cardboard box. The safety also serves as a decocker. So it can be carried with the hammer down in double action mode all other shots are single action. If you are thinking about getting this gun get it buds pictures do not do the gun justice it is nicer than the photo. Also came with a mag loader. Taurus gets alot of hate but I also own Rugers and a Smith and Wesson shield this gun is just as good. Shot 100 rounds through it no problem at all. Buds service is great. The gun is great buy it.

This was my 3rd purchase from Bud's and as before swift shipping awesome price and out the box accuracy. The grip on this compact is unbelievable even with sweaty hands just like its big brother the Pt809 (my first purchase from Buds) only slight downside is the Novak sights are slightly too tall may swap out later as well as the full size. Ran 150 115 grn. Blazer Brass flawlessly, 350 so far in big brother. Awesome pistol perfect for carry.

After carrying the Taurus 809 which is a full size pistol I purchased the 809Compact. I love both of
these guns as they are the same but of course the 809C is more suitable for concealed carry. It is a DA/SA pistol with a hammer, not striker fired like a glock. This means it has a double strike capability in case of a misfire. It also means it can be carried with the hammer down and safety off with a loaded chamber and it is just as safe as a revolver. The first trigger pull is double action unless the hammer is pulled back, then easy single action trigger pulls. The manual side safety is also a decocker when pressed all the way down for a safe way to decock the gun. This means to put the gun in action the only steps required is to draw, aim and fire, just like any revolver. It comes with a 13 round mag and a 17 round mag. A great weapon, I love this gun.

Haven\'t quite yet had the chance to shoot this gun yet, but just the way it feels in your hands is fantastic. Assuming that the performance matches the feel, I\'ll be using this as my edc!
The only complaints I have are:
1. The mag release is ridiculously tight, and it\'s difficult to quickly and easily reload.
2. When a round is chambered, the next round in the mag slightly protrudes, making it even more difficult to remove the magazine if a round is in fact already chambered. BUT the gun cycles just fine, and the magazine is easily released when empty, so neither of these issues would affect performance.
Can\'t wait to shoot this!

I have shot factory ammo crimped and my reloads thru it with no ftf or stopages. For the price you can not beat it.
