Love this rifle .It's a little heavy.

This thing weighs a ton. I lightened it with a skeletonized hand guard from MPA but didn't do much. It's a magazine snob will ONLY shoot with magpul gen 3 magazines other than that it double feeds. MPA no longer making it makes it hard to get new parts. Until then it's a gun for back of the safe. Be a good club if you run out of ammo...LOL

Only shot the rifle twice both times, refuses to either eject, or it tries to double feed. I could never get more than one or two rounds out of the brand new gun without it jamming. In the process of sending it to masterpiece arms for repair. Hopin and praying they can fix it or refund me. When you buy a brand new gun you always hope for the best. If i could just get it to function correctly im sure it would be an awesome rifle..

Unfortunately this weapon has been a big loser for me. Granted it is accurate but the volume of FTEs that I have experienced with this rifle are too high (12 out of 120 rounds with American Eagle 5.56 and 17 out of 120 with PPU 223 Remington ammo). Keep in mind that this was with 4 brand new Gen 2, 30 round magazines. Due to this situation, I deem it unreliable for home defense and very annoying at the range. I will have to return it to the manufacturer for review and hopefully repair and/or replacement It is highly unlikely that I will purchase from this company again as it is obvious to me that they are having major quality assurance issues.

Researched this weapon for hours. Finally shot one and loved it It's a very rugged and reliable black rifle I have put about 500 rounds down range with it and am super happy with the accuracy and reliability I am glad I bought it. Fast delivery as always and GREAT customer service

Awesome ! I have been an AK 47 lover all my life. The AR-15 just never appealed to me. Had 2 different models and sold them both. This weapon feels somewhere between an AK and Ar, and build similiar to a Fal rifle. All I can say is I love it. Feels rock solid. Saving my pennys to buy the 6.8 next !!

The MPA R556 is an amazing gun. It is well made and shoots as good as my other two AR's (Bushmaster and Colt). If you are unsure about this product, I can personally tell you from one shooter to another, its a must have and a heck of a bargain with all the goodies that come on it. Spend the money, and get the best price your going to get on it with Bud's. You will not be disappointed. In addition I would also like to thank Bud's. This was my first order from Bud's, and at first, I was somewhat skeptical. However, dealing with Bud's is simple and straightforward. They take care of all the work and getting your gun to a FFL dealer. It was the easiest and smoothest online gun order that I have ever had. Thank You.

AMAZING rifle!!!! Well worth every penny spent!!!! If you are on the fence about getting one of these, DONT EVEN THINK ABOIT IT!!! Get 2!!! I've ordered this plus 2 more!!! Went straight to the range, i took a red dot with me since no sights come with it, AWESOME!!! 200 rounds isnt much, but not a single issue!!! By far, my new FAVORITE weapon!!!! HANDS DOWN!!!! If there were something like hitting a home run, scoring touchdown or winning a gold medal all in one, thats what MPA hit with this!!! GET ONE!! And as always, BUD's is the BEST!!! I've ordered seceral weapons and items from Bud's, and this will definately not be the last!!!

I cannot say enough good things about this firearm. Masterpiece arms are truly that; masterpieces. The gun is a little heavier than an AR, but not too heavy. However it is an all metal receiver, stamped steel black phosphate coated awesome finish! The handguard is aluminum with a matching finish. The gun chambers and ejects both steel and brass case ammo without a hitch. A few of the videos out there of the MPAR-556 are showing the folding stock covering the ejection port, however those were PROTOTYPE rifles. The final version that is shipping to consumers has the folding stock angled down just a little, and the rifle CAN be fired with the stock folded. Another thing to note is that the muzzle attachment shown in many of the photos was also prototype. Mine came with a fairly standard birdcage style with the lower slots omitted to prevent kicking up dust when firing from the prone position. Mine came with full length top and bottom rails, but only one short side rail which can be attached at various positions along the handguard. It also came with a quick detach sling swivel adaper which will bolt onto the same locations as the short rail. I would note that it is the quick detach swivel adapter ONLY; you will have to buy the actual quick detach swivel separately. On that note, the adjustable buttstock by ArchAngel also has 2 attachment points for quick detach swivels. No sling is included, so if you want a sling, you will have to buy one separately, as well as two quick detachable sling swivels; the kind that you press a button in the middle of the swivel to attach and detach. I might add that the rifle came with a pretty nice HARDSHELL CASE! This was a nice surprise, since neither Buds, nor the Masterpiece Arms website mention anything about a case. Another thing I would like to add is that various descriptions of the MPAR-556 mention that is has an ambidextrous safety. Even the enclosed product manual that came with the rifle stated this, however the one I received DOES NOT have an ambidextrous safety; it is left side only. This is not a problem for me: I am just mentioning it for others who might want to know. The pistol grip and trigger internals are compatible with AR parts. If you want something in 556 that is out of the ordinary, solid, reliable, built like a tank, and built with ease and simplicity of design, I can definitely recommend the Masterpiece Arms MPAR 556. They make a pistol verson of this gun too, however as of the time of this review, Buds does not have it, but I am waiting eagerly.
