I was a little disappointed with the fit and finish.I had to loosen the stock screw to refit the stock tang and the forearm cap screws were loose. I would probably purchase another one but would return it if it had any issues

I had a love hate relationship with this gun when I first received it. The fit and finish was as expected however the gun would not cycle ammunition reliably. I tried multiple brands of ammo to no avail so I contacted Marlin, which was a bit frustrating, and then sent the weapon off for repair. This was the first gun I ever had to send off to the factory for work so that was a new experience and not in a good way. The weapon came back and was still having issues until one day it just randomly stopped jamming. I estimated it was after 300 total rounds. Maybe it was a break in period or maybe I got a lemon. Either way, now the rifle cycles fine and I love shooting it. Very accurate and beautiful to look at.

Marlin did a fine job with this rifle. Fit and finish are excellent, the action is smooth as silk. Comes to the shoulder like second nature and sights are easy to acquire. Nice firearm!

The rifle came without a front sight insert and the screw for the front mount was stripped. There was also scratches on the loading gate and the fit of the stock was poor. The rubber pad on the butt also feels cheap and foamy. I bought this rifle hoping that Marlin's quality had returned, but I was pretty dissatisfied given the price point. Should have bought a Henry or a Rossi.

This is a beautiful Rifle, it arrived as expected, in the factory box without any problems. The walnut stock on this rifle is just outstanding, coupled with the deep bluing, make this rifle look like a firearm that would cost much more money.
I'm extremely pleased with this, and all the other transactions that I've made with Bud's and look forward to making many more purchases from Bud's.

Received my new Marlin 1894 chambered in 45 Colt from Buds and as usual, the service from Buds was first rate and my rifle arrived at mu FFL dealer in short order. As to the rifle itself, I think all of the worries about the new "REMLIN" rifles have pretty much been put to rest. The quality on my rifle is very good, maybe not completely to the point of the old "JM" Marlins, but certainly not bad at all. Fit and finish on my rifle is very good and the action is very smooth. The only thing I have done to this rifle was (as I have done with all of my lever guns) install a "Skinner" peep sight (highly recommended). On the range I loaded up some 255 grain "Keith"style bullets on top of 8.7 grains of CFE Pistol powder (didn't have any Unique on hand) and I was pleasantly surprised with the accuracy i got at 50 yards....just one big ragged hole. The rifle handles very well and is a dream to shoot.....not to mention just plain "FUN". So if your in the market for a pistol caliber lever gun, go right ahead and "pull the trigger" on one of these fine rifles, I don't think you will be disappointed at all.

Read the reviews posted over the past several months and made a decision to risk an order for a Marlin 1894 in 45LC. After researching in depth, Buds was found to have the best price available, even beating out my gun club, which usually wins hands down on firearms, ammo and reloading supplies. Received the call today and drove down to the club to view my "Remlin". First thing, is wood to metal fit is perfect. Bluing is dark, but shows light spots along the top of the barrel, hard to see unless your looking for it. I loaded 10 rounds of unprimed ammo using round nose, flat nose jacketed, and round nose lead in various lengths from 1.55 to 1.6 and all fed flawlessly. The checkering is pressed which I don't like, and I knew that at the time I ordered it, but I was planning on swapping out the wood from an older 44 marlin...but I tell you, after seeing the wood, I couldn't bring myself to do it, the wood is beautiful, both the stock and forearm looks of class 1 wood, something you would have to pay much more for on a expensive shotgun. Our club holds a FFL and sell through our dealer or locations online. When members came in I couldn't recommend a Marlin because of the quality control issues. You always hear "Well the guy at the gunshop said...." I never wanted to be that "guy", but offered alot of friendly advice. Looks like I have proof to show instead of advice now! Great Job Marlin, welcome back!

Have yet to shoot the Marlin 94 in 45 Colt, looks solid, matt finish on wood, machine marks on receiver, could be polished better. Action is tight, shoulkd work out fine, loads and unloads dummy ammo well. Othr than the machining marks nice looking firearm that shoul shoot well. I am installing an express Ghost ring, scout scope rail and express front sight to hel my older eyes. Plan to use a Leupold Freedom scout scope or a vortes Cross fire Scout scope. I will see which one balances better on the rifle to determine final choice. The other will go on my Model 64 1941 32 special. So far so good, will update after shooting range and set up complete. Bud's service was good as usual.
