Kimber Solo Carry Stainless 6+1 9mm 2.7" - Stainless/Silver, 2.7" Barrel, 6+1 Rounds, Polymer Grips, 3-Dot Sights

The Kimber Solo Carry is the best made - the highest quality handgun I have ever owned. This is my only and everyday carry. And I am a 90 year old gent who has carried for 75 years many makes and styles of handguns.

Lot of mixed views on this little pistol online. I really like mine. Zero malfunctions, carries like a dream. Every edge is rounded so nothing to snag or poke. Great little pistol.

I have had two of these before (read a couple below and and the Black DC w/ laser grips) and really liked them. To me, these are nearly perfect for summer carry here in Texas and more power than than a Kimber CDP Micro 380 (read my review). Anyway, this pistol is the same high quality as any other Kimber, fit and finish is flawless. I stripped it, cleaned and lubricated it when I got home with it. I don't remember the recoil spring being so stiff on the others but my hands are 65 years old and beat up and that could have something to do with it. I took it outside to shoot with some Hornady 135g. HP's, Remington HTP 147g. sub sonic HP's and Privi Partizan 115g. HP's. All three brands worked flawlessly in the Solo and absolutly no problem with the 115g. Hp's even though Kimber does not recommend them. The trigger on these takes some getting use to especially if you mainly shoot 1911's. Not really heavy but it has long travel under spring tension with sharp let off. The recoil is sharp due to the light weight of the Solo and shooting one handed recovering for follow ups is tedious for me, the 147g. Remingtons had the least amount of recoil. But this pistol is meant for close up protection. I mostly carry mine in a red dog gunleather pocket holster in my back pocket and it would be a big surprise to someone asking for my wallet. Anyway, only my opinion, for it's intended purpose this is a very good pistol, very easy to pick up and carry, comfortable to grip and plenty of punch. It won't replace your 1911, but is a good choice for some situations. I have purchased over seventy guns from Bud's since 2009 with no complaints and they have always had the best selection and prices .

I am a Kimber owner and collector and love them. I always wanted the Solo to be a great little pistol small enough to stick in a back pocket with more power than a 380. When they first came out on the market I reserved one on Bud's but after 6 months one had still not come in so I canceled the order. Last year I bought a two-tone at a local shop. the first time I took it out to shoot the very first round completely jammed the pistol leaving a live round in the barrel. After a trip to the gunsmith and the pistol fixed I quickly sold it. I think that Kimber has finally fixed the problems with the Solo. I saw the Stainless Solo on Bud's again and decided to try the Solo one more time. I am happy to say that I could not be happier! I really like the looks and feel of the Solo and am happy to say it has worked flawlessly putting 75 rounds through it so far. Being a little gun shy from my last experience I have only fired recommended ammo, 124 gr. and 147 gr. hollow points through it, and have had zero problems. Recoil is not bad at all with the 147 gr. hollow points having noticably less. It has been very accurate at 7 and 10 yards. Fit and finish are typical Kimber quality. I had a Sig 938 for a short while and the Solo is more comfortable in the hand and is of higher quality than the Sig. The Solo has a much nicer trigger and it is not sharp like the 938 that always pinched and stabbed my finger so that it was sore after twenty rounds. So I am very pleased with this pistol and think everyone that is thinking about one should try it. As for Bud's this is about the fiftith gun from them with no real problems and can recommend them as well.

Love this gun. Diehard Kimber fans should be rewarded with a great looking, fine shooting, good handling, accurate, all-metal gun that works like a charm.

I absolutely love this gun. It is the perfect size for pocket carry if you are wanting a 9mm instead of the 380 acp. The gun has functioned flawlessly with zero malfunctions. Fit and finish are what you expect from kimber. Finding holsters and spare magazines has been the worst thing about the gun so far.

When I first saw this Kimber here on this site I knew it was just what I was looking for. I began researching it some more and felt it was a decent gun. I ordered one in February 2011 and it arrived just in time for Christmas on 12/23. Needless to say, it was worth the wait. So far I have placed about 200 FLAWLESS rounds through it. At first, the everything about the gun was a bit stiff. However, it's now beginning to break in very nicely. Trigger pull is great and the gun fits very well into my hands. If you have large hands I can see this gun being a problem, but at 5'10 and 160lbs (so you can get an idea of my build) this is a perfect fit. My next little "mod" for it is a laser site.
