I received my 460 Smith & Wesson two days after ordering it to a preferred dealer I am very satisfied with the service from Gun Shop I will order from them again definitely I waited until I fired the gun before writing his review the 460 5 inch barrel Smith & Wesson is beautiful!! I find The Recoil for the 460 and 454 Casull to be less harsh than the 44 Smith & Wesson 629 with 5 inch. Maybe the the frame and grip absorbs he Recoil better? The recoll is greater than 629 but it just doesnt hurt my wrist as much. The sound is enormous you definitely need double ear protection. And will attract a crowd at the shooting range. but I can't say enough about this I love the fact that you can fire three different bullets when you drop down to the 45 it's like shooting a peashooteride. The firearm was new and delivered as advertised.

So I purchased this with the mindset of using it to take deer and bear. I was torn between the 5" and 8" models. I finally opted for the 5", due to the thick cover I'm often faced with. Upon receiving the gun, first impressions were first, wow this is a big gun. That's not to say it's uncomfortably heavy. It feels like a magnum revolver. It is actually very well balanced, and is very fast to point. This is why I chose the 5" over the 8". If your in thick, close quarters, ( 100 yards and closer ) then the 5" is perfect. If you are planning on a scope, I'd go with the 8 or larger. I know recoil is a big point of curiosity wtv this beast, and I'm pleased to say it is NOT painful to shoot. I will, however say, shooting this gun is NOT for the faint of heart. With the 460 loadings, The concussion blast coming off this thing will absolutely wear you out long before the recoil itself. With the 45 longs however, this gun is hilariously fun. Even the most frail shooter could shoot 45 longs out of this gun with complete confidence. It's a beast of a gun, and for me an absolute joy. 5/5 for me. For smith and wesson and for buds. 5th gun I've purchased off them and not the last.

As usual, Buds was great. Shipped to my ffl in 3 days.
The pistol is great. The polish was a little rougher then pictured here. The 1st 40 rounds of Win PDX 45LC at 25 yards was 2.5 in from a rest. I cleaned after each round for 1st 15. The cylinder started rubbing the barrel once it warmed up. I filed and polished the cylinder end of the barrel, and polished the cylinder where it rubbed the barrel. It shoots perfectly now. Have only shot 45LC so far.

This is an excellent gun, it has way more zip than a .44 mag, not for the faint of heart. Mine is everything I dreamed it would be and more. It came with a tall and a short rear sight, which was a nice bonus. The trigger is heavy but smooth.
I think these guns are best enjoyed with magnum loads, shooting 45 lc or 454 seems like a waste of it's potential.
Bud's was excellent to purchase from.

Quality product, looks like it left the factory with Smiths usual attention to detail. I have not shot it yet and I may not since I am expecting the 500 Smith at my FFL very soon.

To start Buds was really fast in processing and shipping my order. The 460V is well worth the price tag. The trigger pull is amazing on both the single action and double action. Cylinder locks up nice and tight and it is a solid built weapon. The grip is very comfortable which is to be expected by a Hogue grip. Overall I am very satisfied with the fast shipping and the quality of the firearm. If you are considering buying one stop thinking and do it you won't be sorry you did.

This is a very sweet piece. Well finished and nice in the hand. I ran a box of 45 Long Colt through it with a shoot-brush-swab routine and it was quite accurate. Heavy handgun so not real easy to hold steady. The trigger has a long pull but there is a distinct catch just before the break so you can take out the slack then press for a surprise break at the shot. I have purchased the 45 LC, .454 Casull and .460 S&W mag ammo but have only shot the 45 LC so far. Very little recoil with the LC probably because of the weight of the gun. It comes with two muzzle breaks; one for led and jacketed bullets and one for only jacketed bullets. However, most of the ammo seems to be flat nose led. It also has a safety lock on top of the included cable lock. S&W does it right again.

First of all, Bud's was terrific, as always. Never had anywhere near a bad experience here. As for the revolver, it has proven to be exactly what all the hype says about it, and then some. I expected the versatility of multiple calibers, the quality, the accuracy, the fit and finish, the comfortable grips, etc. What I didn't expect was the ergonomic perfection, nor did I expect what is without question the best double-action and single-action revolver trigger I've ever experienced. What I mean by ergonomic perfection is that this doesn't really feel like a hand cannon, even though it is. I am by no means some kind of huge bodybuilder, and I get a senior citizen discount on my coffees these days, yet shooting .454 Casull and .460 Magnum from this revolver is something I can do one-handed. Wouldn't want to do it all day long, and next time I'll probably wear a glove, but still... The recoil is just a really quick push directly backward, without as much muzzle flip as I expected. I thought the revolver would end up a foot higher than where it started, and pointed straight up in the air. Nowhere near that. Not even close. The grips are a huge part of the manageability. Pretty easy to get right back on target. The trigger is so light and smooth in double-action and in single-action that the round is on target before you can think about it. No need to squeeze hard enough to potentially pull the sights off-target. The fun factor is extremely high with the 460V, too, especially when you hear the amazing boom reverberate up and down the valley a few times, and when you see the ridiculous results of 460 magnum hitting a 4"X4" heavy steel target at 50 yards. Gymnasts only wish they could do those kinds of flips and twists, with that kind of height. To summarize: buy one these things. It will make you smile.

Awesome revolver! I picked one of these up a couple years ago in a store near me and fell in love with it. Recently, I made the decision to order one off of Bud's site. The guy who did the transfer almost didn't want to let go of it! This gun, though heavy as hell, is quite possibly the most comfortable handgun I own, and I own a number.
Extremely solid construction.
Wicked looks.
Comfortable in hand.
Time to shoot!
Despite it having been January when it arrived, I took this thing out into the snow and put 20 rounds through it.
I used Remington .460 s&w double jacketed, bonded hollow points. 260grain (I believe)
This gun is surprisingly easy to handle, extremely accurate out of the box and the most fun I've had in a while.
Yes, the 460 ammo is expensive, but I don't care!
Great purchase! Have not looked back!
Thank you, Bud's!
