I have had nothing but good service from Buds, I originally put on layaway a Super Blackhawk hunter. Then a month later they called me to say it was out of stock, and yes why did it take them that long who knows. They did make it right I switched it over to the redhawk and the gave me $40.00 of and a $20.00 gift card. I thought that was great. When I paided it off it was shipped the next day, and arrive on Tuesday and wasn\'t expecting it to Friday. The redhawk was great I did notice at pick up that the seam on the trigger housing wasn\'t seamless in a 3/4 of inch section on the cylinder release side. I choose not to send it back since it wasn\'t a big deal and I can always deal with ruger about it. So The service exceptional as normal and the gun is outstanding no complaints. I\'ve already put the hunter on layawy so its all good I recommend buds its always been good to me

Let me start by saying Bud's was fine on this transaction. Shipping was a tad slow but it was the Christmas season.

I picked up my Redhawk at my FFL and all seemed fine. Everything worked fine and it dry fired without a hitch. I took it
home cleaned and lubed a touch and took it to the range a few days later.

At the range, I loaded it up and first tried to pull the hammer back to shoot DA. Hammer stopped half way back and the
cylinder locked up completely. I unlatched the cylinder rotated it and then tried again. Same result.

I called Ruger and they had UPS pick it up the next day for return and inspection. Two day delivery and UPS took NINE days
to get it back to Ruger.

After Ruger received they called me the next day to say the .44 was to be scrapped and they would be sending me a new one.
Through the whole process the Ruger people were excellent. I cannot speak highly enough of their customer service.

This two day delivery took 3 days by UPS.

Upon receiving this Redhawk I cleaned and lubed and took it down to the range. Loaded, shot one, two and then on the third round
hammer locked and I had to unlatch. I reloaded the two spent rounds and tried again. One, two and locked up again. I wiggled the
cylinder and was able to get past the problem and finished the four remaining rounds. I proceeded to shoot 10 more complete cylinder
loads and the firearm locked up on five of them.

Called Ruger and arranged to have it returned. The Ruger representative was mortified that this happened again. Ruger customer
service was again wonderful and sent in the order for UPS to pick up the next day for overnight shipment. I needed to be at home
for the pickup. UPS did not show the next day, or the next, or the next. Finally did show up on the fourth day and pretty much did not
give a you know what that I had to wait by the door for FOUR days when it was supposed to be picked up the next day.

Upon return to Ruger a CSR called to ay this Redhawk was also being scraped and they were very sorry. We have made other arrangements
for a different firearm and I feel Ruger did me right in taking care of the situation. I am a big fan of theirs and Ruger products (I do have five
other Rugers of which I am very happy).

Too bad, as I wanted the .44, but Ruger did take care of me, but I still have to rate this one a "1".

Now UPS is a pile of dog excrement and I rate them a "-1,287".

I saw the review Hickok45 gave this weapon and it sold me. Built like a tank and can shoot hot loads. Heavy in a pretty way but masculine. Like a S&W but for a guy.

Have had this Redhawk for 1 year now & really glad they made these again! As others have said, fit, finish & function are excellent. It is a large solid revolver. Although pretty smooth & accurate out of the box had lighter spring kit installed which slicked action & improved accuracy. Handles full house magnum loads comfortably & an absolute joy to shoot with lighter loads A little heavy when carrying in the field all day, but it must be to handle magnum loads. Polished rosewood grips are beauties, but very smooth. Will put checkered or rubber grips on for more s solid hold. Get one of the while you can. Compliments to Buds for their consistently good customer service. Fast & efficient, a pleasure to do business with.

Great Gun. I had gotten rid of my first RedHawk that I had for over 30 years awhile back. Mistake. Certain guns grow on you. You may or may not know what I mean. This one is a keeper. I've fired hundreds of rounds, bb 305gr thru hornady XTP 44 specials. All worked as advertised with this gun. Wood grips look and feel great. There is a precision to this weapon that's apparent the first time you take it to the range. It's weight is reassuring and, having previously owned a RedHawk, I can attest to its durability. Bud's service was outstanding (my first purchase from Buds). I will definitely buy from them again. Five stars.

This is excellent example of how a handgun should handle and shoot. Went to the local range (indoor) started with full charge reloads 240gr gas check semi wadcutters and WOW! First 3 shots holes touched each other other 3 "crawled out about 1/2 inch , no sight adjustments it was right on out of the box. Trigger has a very small amount of creep in single action . All other groups fired were tighter or similar to the first group fired. The distance was about 30 ft , two handed hold. I would recommend this red hawk to anyone wanting to shoot the 44mag accurately and comfortably , excellent magnum revolver !

I have owned several DA Ruger revolvers over the years, and this particular Redhawk has the best fit & finish of any of them. NO MIM trigger or hammer like some newer Ruger revolvers.

If you have been looking for a 5.5" Redhawk, these are the ones to buy - accurate and tough as always.

This is a big and beautiful gun the grips were really nice and the stainless finish was perfect. The performance of this weapon was perfect also, It took about 6 rounds to dial it in as it shot a little low at 15and 25 yards. The gun handles real well and the trigger was smooth out of the box and seems to be getting smoother with use. It had zero recoil with the 44spl rounds and I put a Houge rubber grip on it and the heavy 44 mag loads were not bad. This is a superior product from Ruger. The sights are white outlined on rear and has a red insert in the front that are easy to use. This wheel gun would serve any purpose from defense to field use.

AWESOME !!! I thought they quit making this model a couple years back. I saw it on Buds, and had to nab it. I have all of the current models of Super Redhawk along with some of the older plain Redhawks, but I didn't have a 5 inch. This is a little quicker handling than the 7 1/2 inchers and recoil is about the same. As with all Rugers - It's built like a TANK !!! I love the look of the wood grips, but they are PAINFUL, so I put a Hogue rubber grip on it and we are good to go !!! I prefer this look over the current Super Redhawks - the long barrel ones look like they shoved a barrel into an Alaskan to get the extra length. (* But I own 2 of those also *) I checked the serial number and it is a current production - even tho I can't find them being offered on Rugers website - Special production ???
