When this firearm first arrived, it was packed in so much oil that it was almost impossible to inspect. After a cleaning and upon further inspection, I noticed a machining chip on the bottom edge of the slide. At first I thought that Taurus\'s lifetime warranty would help me out but after they took 5 months to decide to replace it and till now still do not have any in stock I pretty much gave up. They did however decide to give me a credit and choose a different model so I cant say they did not try to make my situation right. Bottom line is that if you are looking for a 1911, you are probably safer to just save up for a better brand such as Ruger, Colt, or Springfield.

I had recently purchased the Pt1911 from Buds. When I received the pistol case no damage, gun was preserved very well from corrosion. No signs of damage, scraps, and all parts accounted for. For the gun itself the gun has a lot of nice features, the novax sights, skelitonized trigger and hammer. Beaver tail compliment the gun very nicely, and very comfortable to use. Grips are very nice as well. The gun has been built very well, tolerances on the slide to frame are nice. The only part on this gun I do not like is the cast barrel, though nice but just has a slight cheap feel to it. Barrel to bushing tolerance is good as well pretty tight fit. Accuracy is very good, can shoot very accurate up too 50 yards, I need a little more practice with the gun to go further. I had put over a 1000 rounds through it already, not a single miss feed, jam, stove pipes, people where saying they have a problem with the extractor on these, I have not had this yet. I have also tried the gun with different magazines with no problems as well. Comparing this Taurus PT1911 to my Remington R1S 1911, I will choose this over the Remington, however the Remington does have some better parts on it, this one has more comfortable features, the beaver tail, grips, adjustable trigger, and sights. Cons on the gun are the ambidextrous safety, and barrel after my testing. This gun has tested very well.

This is a quality firearm, very pleased with its performance. To this point, the gun has not jammed or misfired. Approximately 200 rounds of various ammunitions has been fired without any problems.
The appearance, feel, and accuracy are all good.

Worth every penny. Looks great and shoots like a champ. If you don't have Kimber cash, try a Taurus.

My first impressions of the Taurus 1911 are great. Everything is tight and the quality seems very high. My only complaint is that the gun came with a few scratches on the top bluing portion. I suppose this would have happened eventually but right out of the box it seemed a little unprofessional. Great price makes up for it.

Very good service from Bud's. Ordered this piece mid Monday and received in on Thursday. Now on to the gun...
Very Beautiful gun (be careful on the mat black finish if you purchase). Fit and finish are nice for the price and a very good looking gun in person. I've put about 250 rounds through it now and I haven't had a single issue besides the rear sights coming loose. Easy fix with the allen wrench that comes with the gun. After that, easy 3 inch groups and better. THANKS BUDS AND TAURUS!
