This shotgun costs under $300. For that you get an all steel and WALNUT stocked, external hammer, double-trigger, double-barrel 12 gauge. Not bad at all. Despite the beautifully finished walnut, the metal is typical "non-American" matte blue with far too much stamping on the barrels at the breach end. On my version, when trying to attach the forearm I found it simply would not go...then I cleaned out all the polystyrene nodules from every nook and cranny, removed the flat washers under the forearm locking lever, and was able to get the walnut forward to lock in place.
I love the external hammers...right barrel is the front trigger, left is the rear trigger. It does have a sliding safety that when applied will not allow the hammers to be cocked, nor the triggers to be pulled if the hammers are already cocked. The hammers are of the rebounding variety.
While a double barrel isn't the most practical option in today's world, it IS an intimidating one, and the "coach gun" style with rebounding external hammers can be attractive to someone who wants to be able to SEE the gun is not cocked...yet, stuff a couple of buck loads in the tubes and leave it behind a door..."surprise!"
For trail use consider that with its 3" chamber it can take a pair of slug loads that push 4,000 lb-ft of kinetic energy...put two of those directly into a charging bear's face and he WILL NOT be eating you...quite the opposite. "Back in the day..." African big game guides would carry monster double rifles with two massive shells in the pipes and two more held between fingers like sausages. They could pump the first two into a charging elephant, lion, or water buffalo, reload and throw another pair that was simply too much for anything made of flesh and bone to survive. And, because this IS a double hammer, double trigger design, one can opt to fire both barrels at the same time. With top slug loads that is a truly brutal delivery of ballistic weight and energy.
The gun has no removable chokes...but it patterns just fine with what it comes with. This is the sort of gun one can USE in the field without worrying about marring a multi-thousand dollar piece.
I highly recommend people buy these while they last.
The little double even comes with sling swivels...a nice feature.

This is not a bad shotgun. Fit and finish were better than expected for the price. The break action is very tight but a break in of 25 light target loads smoothed it out nicely.

It appeared that the receiver portion of the gun had been dropped at some point and there was a small whammy ding on the outer edge of the break pivot point. A little sanding and repainting took care of it. If I had paid more for the gun I would have been more annoyed with the damage.

All in all it was well worth the price even with the minor issues. Put some shot downrange before complaining about the tight break action!

Buds as always was fast free shipping and problem free!

The shotgun shoot well and is a fun gun to shoot. The only problems are there are a few rough edges that need to filed down and the break open action is very stiff at first but is loosing up after about 150 rounds through it.

This is a PROJECT GUN. On my first outing with it it jammed after the firing the first 2 shells. The action would not open (!) until I dug out the left shell from the chamber with a pocket knife. I also noticed some rattling inside the gun, which turned out to be a loose screw that keeps the safety functioning properly. I had to do some research to disassemble the gun and fix the loose screw so the safety wouldn't jam (this will also prevent firing). To prevent the gun from jamming shut, I also had to file down the chambers so the shotgun shells would not stick. After all of this I finally have a decent smooth-bore scatter-gun. The finish seems to wear off very fast, so now that I know how to completely rebuild this thing, I might paint it.

If you can handle all of that (I actually enjoyed it) it's a beast of a shotgun.

Good gun for the money. Minor fitting problems during assembly, nothing a good cleaning could not fix.

Got it for Cowboy Action Shooting. Chambers are already baby bottom smooth, shells fall clear with no effort at all.

Little lapping compound on the break-open latch and she'll squeal like a greased pig.

i love this gun. have shot about 100 rounds through. i picked up box Winchester bird shot 100 rounds wally world $20 shot 2 rounds gun wouldn't open had to drop on my hand to get barels to open shot another two rounds wouldn't open dropped on hand again barrel broke off completely dropped to the ground. there is a piece that is glued on under the barrel that's holds front grip on broke off the barrels but its like some metal glue stuff shouldn't be hard to fix once i understand what it is. after this i still give 4 out of 5 because of the great value and the layaway option buds rocks!!!! if you want a nostalgic western shotgun look no where else you have found it.

This shotgun is typical of what is manufactured in China. There are good points and bad points and is of average quality. This shotgun is good for home defense and is double safetied because of the exposed hammers. The gun would also be fine for the shotgun leg of "Cowboy Action Shooting" competitions. The break action is stiff and would have to be worked and refined to make it suitable for this application.

The shotgun is what I expected - it is manufactured in China, not Germany, America or Austria. The finished product is not a smooth polished gun. It is heavy and that buffers the recoil. The gun is worth the money and shoots well. I like the safety and enjoyed shooting the weapon..
