Cliff, yes Sir it is. The grip angle and cast is neutral which makes a ton of difference for an ambidextrous grip angle and finger placement. Just a little practice and you will be golden shooting it.

Yes in my opinion, the only "handed" feature on a lot of guns is the magazine release direction which is not an issue with this gun as the XD has an ambidextrous button that works from either side without having to switch it around or anything.

Looks like everyone else pretty well answered your question, but I'd like to add something to James G's answer he says that " a laser is better then a flash light because a flashlight will make you a target" that statement is ridiculous and false. A weapon mounted light is extremely important on a deffensive fire arm, way more so then a laser, the light is for positive target identification, the last thing any of us want is to shoot our wife, kids, innocent person, a weapon light will help you identify threats, and be sure of your target and what lies beyond it. No matter the circumstances YOU are responsible for EVERY round that leaves you gun, with training and practice you can get on target with your iron sites, reddot, or laser, no amount of training will help you positively identify threats in pitch black like a weapons mounted light.

Kink, CA is very stickler for a handgun having to appear on their CA DOJ approved Roster : I have heard from other members that if magazine capacity is the ONLY state restriction that some Buds personnel have offered to remove/replace magazines. Hi Albert, This one comes with the Loaded Chamber Indicator. While the other doesn't.

The above model has a "Loaded Chamber Indicator" which is not on the Service model Albert.
