Balanced, efficient and looks great! These R1's are everything a 1911 is supposed to be. Beautiful grip on the anniversary edition, too!

Love my new Remington 1911 R1 200 Year Commemorative Model. It's my first and only 1911 that I have ever owned so I don't have much experience with them. It's a beautiful pistol. The fit and finish is very nice. I have only shot 100 rounds out of it so far, so I am still in the break in period. The experience of operating a 1911 is much different than any other handgun that I've owned or shot so there is a definite learning curve involved. It's a lot of fun to shoot. This is also my first on-line gun purchase that I have made and it was a flawless and outstanding experience going through Buds Gun Shop. Thanks a bunch

Unable to feed rounds. There is so much side to side play in the slide stop lever it protrudes into the frame far enough to snag the rounds as they are fed upwards and cause them to feed nose down. Even when carefully feeding the magazine (I've tried this with a full mag, half mag and 1 round only) past the the slide stop, the round will not feed past the feed ramp of the frame and the slide crushes the round, compressing the bullet into the case and destroying the round. I have tried with multiple brands of ammunition and multiple brands of mags; Stock Remington, Chip Mccormick and Wilson Combat. All have the identical problem. There is a casting mark on the front strap of the frame and all the way up the trigger guard and to the end of the frame. I have created a repair ticket with Remington but I am having a problem with them trying to send a call tag to my home address during the day when I am at work. I have no way to contact them outside of the repair ticket and I am not sure how this will play out as far as actually having this repaired or replaced (I am hoping replaced as I believe the frame cannot be repaired in any way that will solve both feed issues). This appears to be a poorly made frame. Bud's service is top notch as always! I am now, unfortunately, potentially stuck with a completely defective handgun and poor communication from Remington.

This is one beautiful handgun. I am one happy customer and would advise anyone looking for a 45 auto to buy the Remington. This price is for this Remington is super right. The local gun store here only carried the Rock Island and wanted $460 for it, for another $100 I bought this one.

I thought I had already reviewed the Remington 1911 R1 200 yr commemorative edition, but will do it again. It is a beautiful gun and best of all it is American made. I couldn't be happier with it. I haven't made it to the range yet but expect to next week.
