COLT TALO WILEY CLAPP Stainless Steel COMMANDER .45 ACP - 4.25" Barrel, 7 Rounds

First time buyer from Buds was a pleasant experience. I am fairly new to the 1911 platform so I did a lot of research on this particular handgun. I knew I wanted a “Colt”, and I wanted something a bit different so I opted for this “Wiley Clapp” edition. I’m glad I did. When I picked it up from my FFL dealer, it was hefty, good feel, and aesthetically pleasing. Pretty streamlined IMO. This is a gun I’ll keep a lifetime. I have not shot it yet but I’m sure I’ll only run a few rounds through it to get a good feel. I have dry fired it a few times and I can say it probably has the best best trigger pull of any of my guns. Clean crisp pull with a great reset. I bought the stainless simply because I didn’t currently have one. It’s truly a work of art, again, IMO. As Mr. Clapp states, “ Everything you need and nothin you don’t”.

The 1911 is one of my favorite firearms. Owning a Colt 1911 in .45 ACP has been a goal of mine for quite some time. This Talo Wiley Clapp SS Commander really caught my eye; having shopped around for several years, I knew this would be a great firearm to own and pass to my kids at some time. The ordering and buying process from Bud's was excellent. Although not in stock, the firearm actually arrived earlier than anticipated. Following the email notice from Bud's, I picked up the gun and brought it home to clean and then found an opportunity to go to the range. I've recently fired 200 rounds through the gun; 4 boxes of 50; each from a different manufacturer. The gun performed flawlessly, and it is a pleasure to shoot. The trigger is crisp with a short and distinct reset, with a 3 lb. 3 oz. pull--sweet! The match-grade barrel is very accurate, to say the least. I try to go to the pistol range once a week, and I look forward to improving my skills and using this Colt 1911 for EDC. It is a real "shooter". Overall, I am very satisfied with this Colt, and proud to own it. The fit and finish are top-notch, and the slide is tight and performs well. The grips and stippling are superb, and fits comfortably and securely in my hand. I'm convinced that Mr. Clapp knew exactly what he was doing when he made these improvements.

Great Colt Commander! I am a huge fan of stainless 1911s. This is also a series 70 so that makes it even sweeter. The forward part of the mag well has checkering on it as well, which I don't really care about personally - but I know some people love it. All around great firearm. Carries nicely. 10/10 would buy this again. Makes a nice addition to a 1911 collection.

Very satisfied with my purchase, as the weapon is as seen in the descriptions, and the whole purchase process is very serious, at first I was afraid to make the purchase without first seeing the weapon but now it will be my way to buy

The fit and finish of gun is great, trigger has no creep. Mine does have the black trigger with no holes as shown. Frame checkering very nice and the grips are very comfortable. I have fired 300 rounds of various ammo including Federal Hydra-Shok with no failures. As always Buds was a a pleasure to deal with.

Been waiting for a series 70 commander. Quality is great. Some say they come with a three hole ss trigger, i wish mine did. Mine came with the blue GI full length trigger. It will be swapped for a ss short trigger.Oher than the trigger, Colt hit the bullseye with this one

Great service from Buds and a very nice Wiley Clapp Commander from Colt. All the features I like without a lot of glitz. The gold bead front sight was a feature I was unsure about, but in practice it works well. Thanks.

Picked this up the other day, just to give a heads up the picture listed here at Buds, Talo and colt show this gun with a solid black trigger. The one I recieved and a few others online actually cam with a three hole trigger and two 8 round magazines.
