There's not much difference. BUT, this is the 10 round magazine version. The other has a "large capacity" magazine. Some states don't allow more than 10 round magazines. The free states get the other model because of the greater capacity.

Best gun I have ever fired. If you are debating between the SCAR 16 and 17, get this one. Shoots very smoothly and accurately. You can use this gun for anything if you just put the right optics on it. When I bought this, it was around $100 less than the 20 round version of the same gun. Not sure why. I bought it along with a 20 round mag for less than the one that comes with a 20 round mag. I advise you do that. This gun is very well made and I absolutely love shooting it.
