I have had this weapon for roughly 2 weeks and have fired over 200 rounds through it.
1st. This is a polymer 1911. It is roughly half the weight of a standard 1911. Exceptionally light.
2nd. I THOROUGHLY cleaned and oiled the weapon before firing. Exceptionally accurate right out of the box.
When I say accurate....point of aim, point of impact. Crisp trigger,
Very, VERY nice looking weapon.
The only hiccups in 200 rds was in using magazines that are NOT from MecGar. The Wilson Combat mags that I use are not very well liked by this weapon. No issues as long as MecGar mags are used.
Overall I really like this weapon. With a few small modifications this will become my EDC.

I would like to add my two cents worth to the many wonderful feedback provided. I looked at them and that's how I arrived at my conclusion to buy this Witness 1911 .45. I would like to state that BUD's provides a very fair and honest business for the buyer. So, this pistol looks great and feels great in the hand. I'm a Glock owner for many years and this is my first 1911 after watching a clip on top 5 pistols to own if your are into collecting. The craftsmanship looks real good with this pistol, looks pretty, has several features which are a plus, but at the same time give you room to pimp it up or add some things like a perforated trigger, sights etc. The handle is very thin compared to other brands including the Glocks I own. When you point with it, it feel very natural and in line with the wrist and forearm. Overall, as I read in many reviews, the slide is pretty tight and everything looks and feel solid like more costly 1911 which many knowledgeable shooters have expressed. I will be going to the range and plan to run no less than 500 rounds through it in order to get a descent personal feel for what it can do.

Gun arrived in a timely manner. It looked just as I expected it to, new, no damage. It shot beautifully! Trigger squeeze is perfect, not too heavy and not too light. It molds to your hand giving a very comfortable feel. I would definitely buy this weapon again.

This pistol is fairly solid appearing, but it just doesn't feel the same as an all metal 1911. And the action just doesn't seem as smooth as it's all metal counterparts. With that being said I had no feeding issues or failures the fire. It is a good silently babe pistol but I just don't think they can hold his own against the more traditional all metal counterparts as far as smoothness of action and accuracy, but it is still very reliable.

I have wanted a polymer frame 1911 for a while and finally a company made one that was affordable. I was beyond excited to get this pistol especially for right around 400 bucks. Although it seems to be put together fairly well it does has some issues. 1. The GI guide rod is polymer and only lasted about 50 rounds before it started to fall apart and had to be replaced with a steel one. 2. The grips are molded in as part of the frame so they are no removable even though it has grip screws for some reason. 3. I have run around 300 rounds through it and I am still having jam after jam after jam with known reliable magazines and good factory ammo. If it doesn't start to act right in a hundred more rounds or so I am going to have to send it back to EAA and have them fix it. There are some good things about the gun though don't get me wrong. It feels more like shooting a light weight 9mm vs a traditional full size 45. It’s light so if it was more reliable I would think about carrying it. It is also inexpensive so I would not expect it to run like a Sig or Springfield 1911 right out of the box. Over all I like it but I hope the reliability issues work out or EAA can fix the issues it’s having. I give the gun 3 stars and buds 5 or course.

I am quite surprised by the Witness 1911P, in a good way. I was looking for a basic 1911 with minor upgrades for convenience. The 1911P fit the bill. The extended beaver tail is nice, the slide is a series 70, the trigger is good (especially for a stock 1911), non-ambi safety and the stock magazine is a Mec-Gar blued 8rd magazine. The 1911P is extremely well balanced with 8rds of 230gr lead in the firearm. The balance point while loaded is where the trigger guard meets the grip which makes the gun extremely easy to point on your draw stroke. I was initially worried the 1911P would be nose heavy because of the polymer frame (and being 8oz lighter than a normal 1911), I was relieved to find otherwise. The sights on the 1911P are stock GI style, both are dovetailed for easy replacement. The rear is easily adjustable for windage with a punch/mallet. The front sight is held in tension with a set-screw. The front sight is not a staked sight. That brings me to my only complaint about the 1911P, the rear sight was quite far out and needed adjustment. Minor complaint, but something to keep in mind if you purchase the pistol. General fit and finish is above average for a sub $800 1911, let alone the sub $500 range. Slide fit is very good, barrel fit, bushing/barrel fit and lockup is above average. Machining is very clean and even. The feed ramp is very smooth. Even the polymer is textured evenly and is very attractive. On the range there were no malfunctions of any kind. I ran 500rds of new Freedom Munitions 230gr ball ammo through the 1911P with no issues, not something I can say about some 1911's I've broken in. Recoil is no more than a full weight 1911 and is equally as controllable. The gun was given an initial clean & lube before the range using Mil-Comm tw25b grease on metal to metal friction surfaces and oil on everything else. Overall the 1911P is a well balanced, great shooting "basic" 1911 that could be carried if you wanted to. The weight of the gun is noticeably less than a standard 1911. Half a pound less in your holster is something you notice right away. I truly see no negatives to having a polymer framed single stack 1911. Love it!

I bought this gun only because it is the first poly 1911 to join dozens of other 1911's one of my safes. I received the gun after only two business days and as expected it looks like a 1911 with a rail in the front. I noticed that it is the classic series 70 which made me smile and that it has very good fit and finish. The box says made in Italy. I have several other EAA Tanfoglio guns and I like them all. It appears that the gun will take all of your normal 1911 parts, though it comes with a Mec-gar magazine, I may change to Wilson Combat. I believe that the grips are integral and can not be changed, a minor disappointment. Trigger pull is acceptable and in the 4-5 pound range, though I may polish the feed ramp at bit. For most shooter, this is very minor and I am well pleased overall.
