This thing is a cannon!! I bought this after looking at .454, .460, and .500 smith. In my opinion it has a lot more power than the .454, with hot loads it should be comparable with any .460 load. It made sense for me to go this route since I have an 1895. The gun is built like a tank, sights are good, shoots nice. Very accurate, open sights unsupported I can easily hit 4” target at 100 yards.

Magnum Research BFR revolvers are good quality. Nice trigger, nice target sights, built heavy, and worth the money. I purchased a blemished 45-70 in 7.5" barrel. The blemish is someone nicked the inside of the frame with a die grinder. It is only visible with the cylinder removed. 45-70 is a nice big bore revolver. Loaded hot with 300 gr JHP is like shooting a 44 magnum. 350 JFP rounds were fun. The lighter loads are decent to shoot. The hotter loads get pretty wild with heavy recoil. They all grouped well. They BFR's weight takes a lot of the recoil. I tried Hogue Monogrips, but prefer the stock rubber grips, especially on hot loads.

Usual great service from Buds. This handgun is a hand full but it seemed tamer after I put several rounds through it. Have purchased a shoulder holster for it and plan to carry it while deer hunting. It is labeled "cosmetic blem" but I couldn't find the blemish. Real looker too!

Revolver arrived quickly and upon inspection I found the blemishes that dropped the price, and in no way did those miniscule blemishes detract from the overall excellent product! Haven't shot it yet but as I reload my ammo and already own a Marlin 1895SBL, I have ammo to spare. If you're looking at a revolver that is completely over the top, similar to something that Yosemite Sam would carry then look no further than a BRF. Well worth the cost for such a fine weapon.
