I got this gun a couple of weeks ago and I really like it. I’ve put 100 rounds through it, mostly 38 Special but some.357 Mag. And a friend put through it about 20 38’s and about 20 .357. As a result, he plans to buy one. It shoots very well, especially so for a pocket revolver. I expected.357 to be brutal but it’s not. A lot more snap than 38 but still not bad at all. I typically wear cargo pants or shorts with deep pockets. This little revolver disappears in those pockets. This is how I usually carry. My friend was wearing common blue jeans and it concealed in his pocket as well. Revolvers are reliable. They don’t hold 14 rounds but they do go bang when you pull the trigger. This is now my primary EDC. Single action trigger is light and clean. Double action trigger is smooth and I can shoot it well double action. Finish is very good, typical of S&W.

S&W really went all out on the Smith & Wesson M60 5RD 357MAG/38SP +P 3". this is the best adjustable sighted small frame .357 revolver in the world I have ever seen. It shoots accurately enough that the adj. sights are worth having. Put this in a hi-ride holster & you forget it's there. But it performs like a much larger gun. And still not that bad a recoil (great grips). Carl

I purchased to use as an EDC in place of my current, excellent, Ruger LCR 357 for increased velocity using SD type, magnum lite (Speer Gold Dot #23917) ammunition and better controllability. The wife has an excellent Ruger SP101 2.25" and I was debating between the 3" Ruger and this S&W M60-15. The S&W M60 won out due to adjustable sight and a shorter trigger pull, although the trigger was heavier which I immediately changed with a Wilson Combat trigger spring kit. I like the lighter carry weight of the M60 over the SP101 for EDC but the SP101 being heavier handles higher velocity cartridges better. However, comparing previous SP101 chronograph results using same ammunition lots in similar weather conditions, I find the 3" M60 to be no faster than the 2.25" SP101. I find this unusual using magnum cartridges as they are more sensitive to barrel length changes than lower pressure, non magnum cartridges, such as the 38 Special. As an example, it is not unusual for my 1 7/8" LCR to be 90 - 100 FPS slower than the 3" M60 barrel using magnum level cartridges, all things else being equal. I have yet to measure the cylinder gaps of the revolvers. Fit and finish of all of my Ruger and S&W revolvers are excellent.
