Kahr Arms PM45 45 ACP Pistol - Blue/Black, 3.2" Barrel, 5 Rounds, Polymer Grips, Night Sights

A wonderful shooting small 45acp gun.

Purchased because in really wanted something heavy/built well, small and packed a powerful punch. I like that he comes with night sights and it feels like quality when you hold it. I am not a fan of the spring as I am use to springs such as in Glocks or Smith and Wesson’s. The spring seems cheap and a royal pain to put back. Getting the gun disassembled and reassembled took longer and seemed more of a pain but I’m sure with more practice it would be fine. The 2 most important things that were CONS was 1. It jams constantly until fully broke in. Make sure you read and understand that. Not the gun you going to rely on right out of the box for self-defense. You must break it in. The more rounds I shot the less jams I got and the smoother it became. The second issue for me was it is a Double-Action. The very long pulls and resets I was not prepared for. I wanted quick shots and that isn’t the case. I was so use to Glocks it was like day and night. With practice and training I know this probably wouldn’t be an issue. This is all based on my experience so please keep that in mind. I kept it because I really do like it. I know most of this is just me but I think it’s important to let others know. Do your research, watch videos and try one out.

This Kahr .45 is a great carry gun. It's accurate and easy to shoot.

I own several Kahr pistols and am impressed by their smooth trigger, reliability, low felt recoil, thin profile and light weight.
When I saw Buds selling a PM45 well below MSRP I couldn’t pass it up.
Buds shipped promptly and they were a pleasure to do business with.
Before shooting the PM45 I gave it an initial cleaning. To my dismay the barrel bore’s polished finish was covered with pitting, scaling and random micro scratches. I immediately returned it to Kahr for repair.
I learned from Kahr that my brand new gun was built almost two years ago! Normally that wouldn’t be an issue for me. However, the PM45 has tritium night sights that degrade with time. If they are designed to last 10 years, mine have already lost 20% of their life…and I’m yet to shoot one round through the gun.
I’ll be buying my next gun at the local gun store. I’ll pay a little more, but at least I’ll be able to see what my hard earned dollars are buying.

Well after about 300 rounds the threaded end-piece on the guide rod came loose and fell apart, but I called Kahr and they sent me a new one. It looks like the new one could easily come loose again as it's just a threaded bolt on the end-piece. Other than that is has been very reliable. The sights are nice True Glo night sights. Its a very violent gun, not soft shooting, but that's expected for a small polymer framed .45 caliber hand gun. Why is it so expensive? Well it has a Lothar match grade barrell with polygonal rifling. Once you get used to the long, smooth trigger pull it has more accuracy than a similar sized .45 carry gun. My biggest complaint would be the magazines. They don't fit well and yes you can get all your fingers on the hand grip, but the standard magazine has a little pinky extender on it that bites into your pinkyfinger every time you shoot. Even the extended magazine looks like an after thought and doesn't fit flush. You can actualy see the magazine move as you pull the trigger. For a $600 gun I would expect much better. But, it has been very reliable and you won't find a more concealable .45 caliber carry gun.
