Where are Savage Axis manufactured?

Richard, this rifle is manufactured at the Savage Plant in Westfield, Massachusetts.

What I found said "The Axis is designed and manufactured in the United States." It also said the have "operations" in Canada.

what scope comes on this and is it decent

Shawn, this model comes with a Factory mounted and bore sighted Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 scope. It is adequate but, you can certainly do better.

Shawn, The Axis XPs have come with several different 3x9 scopes. Many have the Bushnell Banner. Some have the Crossfire II. Some have Weaver Kaspa. Some have some other brands. They are all about $150 scopes. None of the scopes are appreciably better then the other. Search the UPC of the individual rifle and you should get an idea. I have in the Axis XP line 6.5 CR with Bushnell Banner, 270 WIN with Weaver Kaspa and the .308 model with Vortex Crossfire II. Buy this rifle for the rifle. Most owners eventually replace the factory optics on these Axis XP rifle/scope combinations. All the scopes are serviceable and will work for hunting.

It comes with a Vortex Crossfire. It is a decent scope. That you certainly can use it well. but what are you going to use the rifle for? Let that information guide you in deciding to replace or stay with it..

Good bargain. Great beginner rifle. Functions flawlessly. After break in it will shoot sub MOA groups in the right hands. The trigger is too stiff but an after market drop in kit for $20 cures that.
The scope I received was a weaver 3x9, an adequate scope for Eastern hunting. I put 15moa Burris Zee rings on mount and a 8x32 Nikon ED scope. I can reach out over 800 yards and I can see bullet holes in mt targets.
Savage is making some great guns that shoot well. I am not at all hesitant in recommending this rifle.

Great rifle and accurate Weaver scope. Buds fast shipping is always nice too. I got 4 bullseye shots in a tight group at 100 yards with little adjustments made after bore sighting. Trigger is not perfect but this rifle for me is to hunt deer. My 13 year old son really enjoys it too. Even though the rifle is light it really had minor recoil. Thanks Buds!

A+ item this Savage Axis rifle is one nice gun weighing in at around 7lbs it has a smooth bolt and shoots like a dream Bud's knoked it out of the park once again shipping was super fast and the item arrived in perfect condition Bud's is definitely my go to for great deals on anything shooting or hunting

Great gun / scope combo for the money! Although mine came with a Weaver instead of a Bushnell scope it doesn't take anything away from the package deal, and it is a deal. 3 shots to sight it in @ 100 yards in 1 small ragged hole. Buds prices can't be beat, fast shipping and great customer support.
