CZ USA 527 FS .223 Rem Bolt Action Rifle - Blue/Black, 20.5" Barrel, 5 Rounds, Wood

The CZ with the full length stock is an amazing firearm. While the manufacturer does not mention it in their specifications, the barrel is free floating and very accurate-- with a great set trigger. The rifle does very well with both jacketed and cast bullet ammo.

The bolt is stiff and I've just lubricated it and maybe it will improve. The front site is almost impossible to adjust and the book that came from it from CZ is not descriptive on an easy way to do the front or the rear site. The very thin mag is not easy to use. It doesn't go in out easily and I've just lubed the whole thing again. It shoots accurately but the 223's that I'm using don't fit easily into the mag. I'll try and load the shells with the bullet lower into the case to see if that helps. The finish is great and the stock is superior. The action on my other CZs is far better although this is my first 223 bolt action. By the way, my cartridges not only fit into my other 5.56/223 mags but function perfectly. It's definitely this mag. I hope that this helps and the scope that I've ordered corrects the site problem on the rifle along with modifications in the depth of the bullet.

This is my fifth CZ rifle so it's obvious i am a fan. I have not had time to work up any accuracy loads but performance with some decent factory loads looks promising. Great service from Bud's as usual. Beautiful wood, decent metal finish add up to a slick little package that is already proving to be a lot of fun.

I was very pleased when opening my well packaged CZ 527FS from Bud's. I first noticed the quality walnut full stock to be pleasantly figured with excellent fit and finish, The action and barrel are very smooth and well finished. The normal trigger mode is crisp with no creep, over travel, or backlash and the set mode is very light and positive. The European stock's fit and feel is outstanding and the accuracy is consistent with target and varmint rifles. Try a full stock CZ. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful wood on the CZ 527 and excellent workmanship. Mine is in 223 caliber and shoots very good groups. The iron sights are listed as fixed but are adjustable both windage and elevation but it is not an easy task without instructions and the the proper allen wrench which is not included. It took over twenty rounds before it was zeroed. With my 67 yr old eyes the fiber optics in the sights are hard too see under certain conditions but a gun of this quality deserves a scope anyway. I suggest a Leupold 3x9. Also the chambering of a cartridge is fairly rough but is to expected with a new gun. Over all I am very pleased with it and am considering another CZ in 7.62 x 39. As with all manleicher stocks, the gun should be allowed to cool after five rounds or the bullets will tend to wander after the barrel heats. You will not be sorry getting one of these.

LOVE THIS RIFLE ! IT IS REAL METAL AND WOOD ! The rifle is light and points easy, the stock fits me perfectly, the bolt, safety, trigger are quite smooth function perfectly and will only get better. The walnut stock is beautiful, the trigger guard is metal as is the magazine, all metal is very nicely finished, the only plastic piece is the nose cap. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The CZ 527 FS 223 is a distinctive rifle. Its walnut, full length stock sets it apart from other long guns. At its heart, the 527 is a target rifle. Its fiber optic sites are good, and design lends itself to acquiring targets easily. The set trigger is amazingly light, and even when not engaged, the regular trigger pull is easy and crisp. With optics it should hold its own with any other bolt action .223. I am looking forward to many years of putting holes in paper.

JUN 2017: Initial inspection upon receipt revealed outstanding fit/ finish, crisp checkering and nicely tiger-striped figuring on the Mannlicher style Turkish Walnut stock of the CZ 527 FS .223. (extra oily packed) The thick, soft, foam butt pad was blushing out lighter-colored discoloration spots erasable by rubbing in some silicone lubricant. One lonely magazine included & no extra accessories. 3.5 inch Nominal Group Accuracy (Sharp Shooter) with minimal recoil was consistent for open sights at 50yd, but TBD with future sight upgrades. The sights and cheek piece combination made an overall fit which allowed very natural pointing with sight picture "falling quickly to the eye". This elegantly refined, light scout rifle with full stock balances wonderfully with locked in tight sling wrap on arm, offhand. The 1:9 twist threw 100 rounds of all forms of ammo on target using factory open fiber optic sights at 50 yards without real loading/ejecting problems even though the action is stiff and not as smooth compared to Sako. The micro-mauser action felt a little flimsy, but that is only in comparison to a K98 Mauser. I could not achieve reliable, fast & smooth bolt actuation without getting hung up momentarily and having to jiggle bolt to close, but lock up is smooth and fine. This would improve with gunner training, but the action is not robust enough to do it all for the shooter. You can't just slap the bolt around to close it, but hey, its a lightweight micro centerfire, right? Adjustable trigger was light enough to be pleasantly unobtrusive and was just used at factory setting, so far. I was getting a mirage off the front sight shooting outdoor in high sun with old eyes. Front sight puzzling for me to adjust with no specific instructions available for elevation. Summary: Beautiful, lightweight, balanced, accurate and natural-pointing rifle of good value, but could use some fluff and buff or more break-in of the bolt/receiver to cycle smoother on forward bolt travel. ozarkjohn

Received my 527 FS today and it's as beautiful/handy as you can imagine. It has the new 557 fiber optic front sight, extra skeletonized sight hood, and angled/reversible rear sight with luminous painted dots. The only negative I can say is that it has a plastic nose cap instead of steel. Definitely a keeper.
