Available in Walnut, Laminate, or Synthetic, the classic styled Patriot looks great on the gun rack and feels great when shouldered. The Patriot's attractive spiral fluted bolts feature an ergonomic bolt angle and knurled bolt handle offering plenty of grip for quick follow-up shots and enhanced shooter comfort. Its box-magazine-fed action makes loading and unloading a snap.

Really nice rifle. Very accurate. The quality is pretty good. Maybe not the quality of the Ruger scout rifle but at half the price I can buy two of them and not be disappointed. The only down issue for me is the front sight, it is a little big for shooting accurate at longer distances but not a deal breaker. Would not be afraid to buy another one in 308.

I like the idea of the gun. Something I’ve always wanted in a survival type rifle. Chambered for common US military cartridges and the .223 ad well. Cheap to shoot. Manually operating and uses detachable mags. Before taking it to the range I“ dry “ run some live rounds through the action. Not good, most of my rounds do not eject completely. At the range I find that fired cases eject with no problems, yea! Couple of times it didn’t pick up a round but not to worry. Biggest complaint comes from the rear sight. I found that for a 100 yds it must be the highest mark. Makes me wonder what the lower ones are for. Once used to the sights I managed to hit dead on at a100. Good gun! My buddy will be getting one as well. Will make a good back up to an AR or a truck gun etc. High marks!!!

I've always gone for the more expensive, beautiful, walnut stocked guns with hand checkering, etc, But I saw this gun (.556) and knew it was exactly what I needed to keep in my truck for times I need a rifle. I don't worry about a scratch on the wood ect. Then I shot it and it was everything and more than I expected. I will be buying another one in .308 very soon. I Love the AR clip and I feel well armed with 10 rounds and it is a great alternative for an AR style semi-auto rifle. As a matter of fact I like it better. I have an AR 10 but I've to yet have a need for it and hope I never do. Most of the time this wonderful easy to handle Bolt action rifle is all I need. Thanks Mossberg.

First time ordering from Buds; process was very easy - ordered on Monday, received on Thursday (Central VA). Item was as described, and sale price was excellent. Would order from Buds again.

Shooting just under an inch at 50 yards with iron sights(replaced rear with ghost ring).
Impressed with the accuracy so far, the fit and finish is to be expected for the price, the mags feel loose in the well but feed fine. Not the smoothest bolt but very nice trigger.
1-3 light primer strikes per 10 round magazine fired. Using MEN M855 and IMI M193.
Will see how accurate it is once i get glass on it but so far for the price, im happy with the purchase.

I’ve had a lot of fun throughout the 400 rounds I’ve put through this rifle. I’m not sure what Mossberg does to their barrels, but I’m able to obtain sub MOA groups with this thing, even without using match grade ammo. I believe the bull barrel may have something to do with the accuracy, but it does come at a little bit of a cost: weight. This rifle looks lighter than it actually is at 7 lbs. Not a deal breaker, just a bullet point. The trigger is outstanding with a nice, crisp break. Another plus is it utilizes standard AR15 magazines, eliminating the need for me to invest in 5 proprietary ones. One thing to note with AR mags is that your bolt will be held open by the follower after the last round. I suppose you could look at this as a pro or con depending on how you plan on using the rifle. One thing I don’t much care for is the magazine release lever. It’s not the easiest thing to get to if you’re trying to reload quickly. I wish they could have extended it just a tad below the stock for easier actuation. Another hiccup I have noticed with my particular rifle is occasional light primer strikes with XM855 and XM193 (we’re talking 1 out of 100 or so). All of the 223 I have put through it has functioned fine. My guess is harder military grade primers are the cause because I took the lightly struck rounds and fired them in an AR without issue. One final consideration for this rifle is it will be legal in more locations than an AR or similar semi-auto rifle, and still legal if they ever get banned (God forbid).

Got to take it to the range the other day and try it out. It did not disappoint. I love the fiber-optic sight on it. The bolt was a little rough, but I've heard from different people it just needs to wear in. The only time I really noticed it was using a 30 round pmag. With the 10 round magazine it comes with, it already works fairly well. My one complaint is the fact that the magazine holds the bolt open on the last round. Not sure why that's needed on a bolt action. That's a minor inconvenience, though. It's light weight, accurate, short, and just flat out a blast to shoot. I would buy this thing again in a heartbeat.

Love it! Sub moa @100 yrds. Some say that there is a mag problem, mine is somewhat loose but functions fine. Couldn't be happier.
