I have used this shotgun for several years now. It has performed flawlessly. It has accepted and used a variety of chamber adapters. I am very pleased with the gun!

Fit and finish are very good. Mobil choke compatibility is an excellent feature. Note: this firearm is a licensed, circa early sixties, Beretta design. I was looking for a used H&R single shot to cut short, choke tube, add swivels, and customize. Then I found this gem. All I added was a sling and elastic stock shot-shell holder. My purpose was to have a light shotgun at the ready when calling coyotes and they show up inside practical scope range. This is as good as it gets. Now, understand it weighs around five pounds. Shooting full house buckshot is acceptable, but not desirable. I shoot reduced recoil buckshot. I have not fired 3” rounds and probably won’t. This shotgun cocks when you pull the barrel release lever to load. It has a cross bolt safety which can remain engaged during this process. I only point this out, because in the US we are used to cocking a hammer on a single shot when ready to fire. This shotgun mimics typical O/U nomenclature, except lever is underneath. Folds up to quite a short package too. If the cocking/release lever were shorter, it would fold even tighter. An excellent choice for my purposes. From a practical standpoint, this would make a fine addition to a “go bag” as well.

The 20 GA version that I received in error is a well made single shot firearm.

Nice little 12 gauge! Arrived in perfect packaging, on time as promised. I have not fired it yet, but I am sure it will do fine. I have enjoyed purchasing with Bud's over the years, they always hold up their end exactly as they say they will. Still cannot find a better price than Bud's either!

The Midland Backpacker 12ga is a well made, simple design. Machined from solid steel castings and deep drilled steel bars.
It's compact size and folding ability lend to a package that is easily carried and kept in a small package.
The single barrel, single shot shotgun has long been a system that is rugged and dependable in a sporting, survival or property and self defense roles.
The available conversion inserts available from Short Lane and other sources allow the use of 20, 28, 410 as well as several pistol calibers including 9mm, 38 special, 45acp, 40 s&w and others make this firearm extremely versatile in many applications.
The fact that the Backpacker is threaded for Beretta/Benelli mobile flush mounted or extended chokes further adds to it's capabilites.
The unit I received is in pristine condition. The fit and finish is excellent and the action locks up solid .
The trigger is heavy but not excessively so. The safety is positive and the cocked indicator is a very nice touch.
The metal finsh is a black hard chrome instead of standard blue which should lend to it's longevity.
At this price point I believe you'd be hard pressed to find this type of firearm at a better value.

Love this thing. High quality construction that uses Baretta choke tubes. Might buy a 410 next time.

Like the gun,great service.....on a side note if your planning on using, Gun adapters.com adapters,they do not fit if there older adapter....I'm told the newer ones have been redesigned to take care of the problem, I have an older 45lc 5" adapter that does not fit I'm told the forcing cone starts sooner on the Turkish guns....so if your planning on using your older and longer adapters with this gun you will be disappointed.

Like the Midland Backpack due to the Mobil Choke system. It allows some modifications such as Improved Cylinder over Modified. The light weight is something to consider if 3" Magnum shells are your favorite. Shot with 2 1/4 and 2 3/4 shells. Younger shooter like no hammer and a cross bolt safety. Great instructional tool to teach new shooters.
