A classic American pistol, the Kentucky was a must have for American Pioneers and early 19th Century Explorers. The Kentucky was made famous by the battle of New Orleans and favored by Davey Crockett. It was a favorite because of its one piece stock with superb balance and features like a birds head grip, fixed sight, case colored sidelock and brass ramrod thimbles.

Fun muzzle loader. Well made easy to load and shoot. Decent accuracy out to 15 yards. Good value for the money. Happy with the purchase.

I purchased this pistol to go with my Kentucky rifle since both were .50cal. It shoot good and can even fire buck shot. Lots of fun.

So far so good, have shot it a lot and it’s held up no issues. With my experience with the Deluxe Kentucky rifle and the Kentucky rifle model, I don’t believe I would risk purchasing another traditions firearm again. However this gun shoots well and is a lot of fun. The only con I have found with this pistol is that the screws are easy to bugger up, when you take it apart for cleaning. So you have to be extra careful and take your time.
All in all not a bad gun so far.

Prompt service from Bud's, ordered and a few days later at my door. Beautiful firearm, great for displaying and shooting. Would buy again.

Nice pistol but I have to fire it one handed in the type of competition i engage in and I haven't found that "sweet spot" yet ( ball size/patch size, powder volume" as yet.

Just received the pistol yesterday and at first glance it appeared to be fine but closer examination revealed the inletting was substandard. The barrel channel was left too tight, especially around the tang, and started a minor crack in the wrist of the gun. The lock was also fit very tight. The ramrod was almost impossible to remove because of poor fitting into the stock. About 15 minutes with a Dremil tool solved these issues and now a good coat of a quality poly protective coat will prevent wear of the finish. For the price you can't go wrong as I have found Traditions barrels really shoot well. A little touch up and refitting does not bother me as I saved a lot over what others sell this model for. Bud's as always has the best prices you can find. If you don't mind a little TLC when you get your gun go ahead and buy this one. I personally have had far worse problems with cartridge guns from some very familiar makers.

If you're going to put it on your desk and look at it this is a fine piece. I received it today and have played with it for a few hours while watching a movie... and the finish is already wearing off in different spots. Haven't even fired it yet... so if you want it for a "movie gun" to play with or to shoot it on occasion like I did... I'd shop around a bit and find a slightly nicer more expensive toy.
