UBERTI CATTLEMAN "El Patron" Cowboy Mounted Shooter (CMS)

.357 Magnum

3.5" Barrel

You can depend on it! Lightning fast and reliable, shot after shot—in the world of single action revolvers Uberti's new hand-tuned Cattleman model is truly “the boss,” or El Patrón, as the Vaqueros of the old west would say. The gunsmiths at Uberti have fitted each El Patrón with high-grade, US-manufactured Wolff springs and each revolver has been carefully tested and certified for flawless fit and function. The result is a single-action that is reliable, lighter and faster with a smooth-tuned action. The new El Patrón is available in 6 new factory custom-tuned models with color case-hardened or stainless steel frames, numbered cylinders, steel backstraps and trigger guards, new checkered walnut grips and wide, easy-view front and rear sights.

Uberti is now offering a new 1873 Cattleman El Patron Cowboy Mounted Shooter (CMS) in a customized, full-size single-action revolver that’s designed to make mounted shooting easier. A shorter barrel is better suited for quick draw and combined with a new lower hammer profile makes it easier to cock and shoot the El Patron CMS using only one hand while mounted on horseback. The El Patrón is available in traditional .45 Colt or the powerhouse .357 Magnum.

Though I've shot them before, this is my first purchase of a SAA firearm. I'm purchased this (in .357mag) because I've always wanted this type of firearm, but I'm not into CMS, Cowboy Action Shooting, or any other type of competion shooting. Both I and my recieving FFL were very impressed with this pistol. It was heavy, well finished, and had a nice balance. A quick cleaning and a trip to the range revealed it is a fine shooter, very smooth action and very accurate. Prior to recieving the gun I did a bit of searching online for a non-western type holster, and found there are very few options for the 3.5" barrel. Once I recieved the gun, I found my Triple K 196-1 holster for my S&W Model 10 fits it perfectly. The holster is a tiny bit loose on the Model 10, but snug on the El Patron and a new one should break in nicely. I'm no expert on SAA firearms, but I promise you won't go wrong with this one.
