The pistol was received as advertised, in a wood box with all the accoutrements. As is common with Russian guns, the pistol is no nonsense and designed for one purpose only. Quality is evident but it doesn’t make a lot of fanfare about it... As received, seems in very good shape and is perfectly functional. Trigger is absolutely fantastic. I have not had the opportunity to fire it except for one test round as I am still waiting to received the grips I ordered from Precision Target Pistol Grips, as I have not experience in carving wood. I may try that later once I know what I really want. The wood of the blanks for the grips seems like great quality wood and smells really good, and there’s a lot of it to work with. I may add to this review once I install the new grips and fire a couple bricks through it.

AMAZING VALUE. I have paid $345; you need to spend 4x that to get a decent (used) free pistol. The Toz is not the most competitive one, but it's a lot of fun to shoot with, and way more precise that I am now. If you want to try shooting 50m free pistol, this is a safe bet. It comes with a nice wooden case, tools, spare parts. The grip is a blank, so it will require a lot of work. Work you have to do anyway with a free pistol, unless you have the possibility to try grips of a few sizes (impossible in the US, as these pistols are not common) and customize it with resin and dremel. Fresh out of the box, I have tried it on 5 different ammo (all from Buds!), bench shooting from 25 yards. https://imgur.com/YribWS3 There is variability because I am far sighted and I didn't have shooting glasses, but you can see the results here: Eley Practice Ammo: https://imgur.com/WUP0Upb REM AMMO .22 LONG RIFLE 100-PK: https://imgur.com/mczqLS2 ELEY CLUB 22LR 40GR: https://imgur.com/uFzaM25 CCI 22 Long Rifle Mini Mag 40 Grain Round Nose: https://imgur.com/4NUoL1k Fiocchi PISTOL SHOOTING DYNAMICS 22 Long Rifle Copper Plated: https://imgur.com/Q9BbdQ7

I bought several Toz 35M''s and the pistols look to be unused. Triggers are amazing! I can see many uses other than 50 meter target.

Buds did their usual Great Job, the communications were great... I am impressed with the gun it is new and has an unfinished grip that will need much work to finish...I am a fan of Buds..my only issue is FedEx. They had my gun at the transfer facility on Saturday, they did not send it out until Tuesday... it sat all day Monday in the facility...Buds YES, FedEx No.

I have been thinking of buying a TOZ 35 for about twenty years. While I would have preferred to acquire one with the finished grips, the time for that is long gone. Bud's shipping went as smooth as you could ask for. Within a week the pistol was at my FFL. I purchased the five dollar insurance since the expense was minimal and you never know. The gun arrived in what seemed to be perfect condition. Bud's specifically states that you need to check it out before finalizing the purchase, because once the registration process is complete you can not return the item. This is a problem since the gun is not firable as you receive it. When I got it home I discovered that the trigger was not working. It would not fire. Before calling to complain I decided to figure out what the problem could be. Checking the manufacturing date, I discovered the pistol had been made in 2005. As far as I could tell it had never need fired. This ment it had been sitting, packed in Grease, for eleven years. So,I decided the best thing to do was disasemble it and clean it. After all, that is the first thing the manual says to do. I have to admit there was a bit of rust in the mechanism, but after a good cleaning it worked like a charm. I have still not been able to fire the pistol, however, using a snap cap in it shows that the firing pin is striking the bullet. Now I just need to finish the grips. I figure it will take me at least a month to get it in usable shape, but what the heck, I have waited for twenty years. One of my big concerns, based on other reviews on the Internet, was about all the accessories. The gun should come with pin punches, sights inserts and replacement springs. They were all there. Based on the inclosed instructions the gun was complete. Since I have not been able to fire it yet my comments are limited to the what I received. I would say, however, that if you are looking for a Free Pistol type gun for the price you can not beat it. The history of the TOZ 35 speaks for itself. Good luck and happy shooting.....
