Took the gun to the range today. put 150 rounds through it. in the first 50 rounds I had two failures to feed and two extraction problems. I don't know what you call the piece that holds the firing pin in but it slid down at one point and locked up the gun. I had one magazine (after market) that would partially eject when firing. ( I had other problems with this magazine in other guns so I can't fault the RIA). All problems were gone after that. the gun ran flawlessly after that. It grouped in 4 inches and about three inches low at ten yards. I fired Winchester 230 ball and Remington 230 ball. I also fired 7 rounds of golden saber and it ran great with these and hit almost point of aim. RIA recommends 500 rounds for break in. I am very satisfied with the gun, for $459.00 it is a great bargain. the quality of fit and finish is high. The feed ramp is highly polished and the matte bluing and silver cerecoat finish is very nice. I'll put another 200 rounds through it at a later date and if there are no problems I will feel confident to use it as a carry gun. the only problem with the gun is there is a small burr on the safety grip that cut into the web of my hand, a little filing took care of that. This is my second RIA pistol I have a 10mm tac II and it is awesome. I would buy this gun again.

Excellent gun at this price point. It had to be stripped down and cleaned properly, but that should be done anyway. Extremely happy with Buds, and will order from in the future.

this is my first GI model 1911, but I also own 3 other 1911's from RIA and love them. I must say im not happy with the trigger on the GI model, and other than having it covered in grease I would say it shoots pretty good out of the box after being cleaned. Like I said on a personal note im not a fan of the Trigger on the GI model and plan on upgrading it, hopefully that will improve it. Buds was very good at the shipping so im content with that.

The gun is worth a 5 star but gave it a 4 like previous review it was dripping in oil enough to do an oil change.. Had to brake it down for cleaning. I had already bought the gun before the other review was posted.. Doesn't come with skeleton hammer, trigger or beaver tail. Shoot great no hiccups.. Very satisfied with it.

Haven't gotten to the range with this yet, but upon initial inspection, the firearm seems to have a finish on it that leaves a lot to be desired. The grips are cheap plastic, which is fine at this price point. And upon receiving this firearm at my FFL it was wrapped in a bag and dripping with oil. I literally held the firearm at the base of the grip with my thumb and forefinger and watched it just drip out of the barrel. Expect to have to tear this down completely to the frame to clean it up. A simple field strip and clean/re-oil isn't going to be sufficient. Also, I know the picture doesn't always depict what the item exactly is, but to anyone looking to purchase this firearm, it does NOT come with the skeletonized hammer and trigger. This isn't a major deal to me, just letting future buyers be aware. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for having to cometely disassemble this thing and clean it up. I'll come back and give another review after I have some rounds thru it. For what it is at the price point paid, not a bad firearm overall w/out being fired yet.
