Great firearm for the price. Charter Arms have been around since the late 70's early 80's. They have had their share of up's and downs...they are on a major up! Quality is good, size is compact, and accuracy great, and dealing with Buds is always a pleasure.

Great gun, super fast shipping, Bud excels again, great job.

Fit and finish are good. The gun is comfortable to shoot. The trigger pull is great. Double action pull comes in at about 10 lbs. All others are usually too high for my pull gauge to read. I did get a few light primer strikes which fired on the second try. Like the last one I had this one shoots low. All in all a great revolver for the price.

Bud's got my Bulldog in just a couple of days. Fast service. I got 30 minutes free range time with the gun so I put it to use. Using Hornady 180 grain and 165 grain loads the accuracy was excellent at 7 and 10 yards. The lighter grain load shot about an inch lower than the other. The Bulldog has bark and bite. I have already put a set of Pachmeyer compact grips on it and they made a great gun even better. This gun will be my carry gun on my backpacking trips and trail runs from now on. The gun functions flawlessly and has become my favorite handgun and I have quite a few of several different makes and some were considerably more expensive too. Charter Arms and Bud's got it right on this one. Definitely 5 stars!

This is my first revolver from Charter Arms. Would like a tighter fit on the crane at the cylinder, but due to the design, there isn't a lot of steel there. It handles the 44 Spl round with comfort though it consistently hit 5" or so low at 15 feet. Accuracy is decent, and I think the trigger is good for any price. If you are looking for a compact revolver with more whallop than a 38 Spl and more controllability than 357 snubs, this is a great choice.

Buds service is 5 star excellent. The Charter Bulldog is really nice but the finish on the end of the barrel is pitted. The rest of the revolver is fine. At this price point and considering this is a working revolver as opposed to a safe queen, I'll take a star for the rough spot on the barrel and go enjoy it. Had I inspected this in a store or gunshow, I might have passed. Then again, I would have almost certainly paid more. If this Bulldog lives up to it's service expectation, then perhaps it will earn back half a star in the future. Time will tell. I will be purchasing from Buds again.

This was my first purchase from Bud's Gun Shop and I must say the transaction was smooth, the Charter Arms Bulldog 44SP arrived in a nice caring case and the gun was in perfect condition. I opted for the 90 day pay plan and actually completed the purchase early. The delivery was "on time" and never had an issue from the time I selected my gun until it arrived at the FF dealer.

I have picked out a 1911 and it is already on 90 day layaway, it not easy these days to find a company that provides customer service, so I will continue to shop with Bud's , and thank you Bud's for a real satisfied buying experience.

Fast delivery from Bud's, as usual. Great light weight and slim revolver. Everyone should have one of these!

Great revolver for carry, night stand or glove box. A pleasure to shoot, even more so with the Pachmayr Compact Grip. The .44 Special is a fine calibre for a defensive firearm. Given thatt it is a Bulldog with the lightened frame, you want to be very selective in your ammunition choice. Save the very hot rounds for your beefier revolvers (Ruger, Smith, Colt)...go with 200gr Speer Gold Dot .44 SPL #23980 or similarly pressured personal defence rounds. More than enough to do the job.

Excellent service from Buds Gun Shop. Am buying all my new firearms through this site, can't beat the price or service.

Caution, this gun and .44 Special caliber are habit forming. This is my third Bulldog. The first gun I bought to replace a shotgun as stand by at home gun. It's role changed when I bought another Revolver for that. The second gun I traded with Gurney for an Undercover .38 Special. I got this one 'cause even though the first gun functioned nicely, I didn't like the sights. At Bud's prices, why not just buy another? I have yet to shoot this one but the sights are nice. Some parts from the first gun have migrated to the third gun. I have three different sets of grips I can use. I recommend to you: that you load your own ammo with Winchester or Federal Primers. You should polish the sides of the hammer. You can get lighter hammer springs and Federal Primers will prevent light strikes. Reloads should be only for practice not carry.
