Introducing the Charter Arms .40 caliber Pitbull. The unique design provides a dual coil spring assembly located in the extractor which allows for the insertion and retention of the .40 caliber cartridge in each chamber of the revolvers’ cylinder. (No moon clips required) This patented system allows the shooter ease of ejecting spent cartridges for immediate reloading.

Charter Arms has taken the difficulty of rimless loading and ejection to the simplicity of the rimmed cartridge in the revolver industry.

I\'ve made multiple purchases from Buds Guns, and there is a reason I keep coming back!

On to reviewing the pistol. I can only say it exceeded my expectations. A damn fine weapon. I got lucky that it was in stock, and I had enough sense to jump on it.

No complaints whatsoever. One of the best compact revolvers I have ever owned. It is sturdy, accurate, easy to handle, and easy to conceal in either the pocket or waistband. I also like the decocking safety feature. Charter Arms is a class act, and I look forward to buying another one of their finely crafted weapons. A police officer friend turned me onto this pistol, he was absolutely right.

Thanks again Buds Guns!

My revolver got here earlier than expected. I received my gun in about a week. Everything about it seems great. Functions smoothly. Will update after I get a chance to go to the range this weekend. Will definitely order from buds again.

Received my Charter Arms .40 S&W Pitbull in less than a week! Could not ask for an easier transaction. A very nice, small frame revolver, exactly as shown on the website. I test fired it at 7 yards and was able to get a 4 inch group, double action only, rapid fire. I'm very happy! Thanks Buds!

Finally made it to the range with my Charter Arms Pit Bull in .40 cal. The service from Buds was great! Did a lot of research before purchasing and this gun is most definitely made for "close in" defense from 0 to15 yards. It has significant recoil and is not the type of handgun to shoot 100 rounds at the range every week but at the same time the recoil is very manageable. However, it packs a solid punch in a small frame, fits well in my hand and is pretty light. Shot well right out of the box. To me, it is ideal for what I had intended it to be and that is reliable home defense. At 25 yards and beyond, accuracy diminishes as well as it should for a small handgun with a short barrel. Overall, for the money, it seems like it will be a reliable home defense weapon. This is the gun you grab first for any potential intruder.

THE TRANSACTION: This was my second purchase from Bud's. Besides price point, I value their service: sending confirmation emails at key steps during the purchase/fulfillment/shipping cycle. Likewise, the transfer of the revolver at my local FFL was a very smooth process.

THE GUN: Have been looking for a .40 Pit Bull for the past 6 months, but none was to be found locally, nor at Bud's, until recently. This is my first encounter with a Charter Arms product .... I find the fit, finish, and function of this revolver to be excellent. The day after picking it up, I fired 150 rounds at an outdoor range. This is no 25-yard handgun to be sure, but compared to my LCR at that distance, I found the Pit Bull to be much more accurate. The only minor negative found thus far is ejection of the spent rimless cases; at times 1 or 2 are passed over by the "star" when ejecting. This is tricky, but I think will be resolved with more practice on my part. Other than this, I really enjoy shooting this revolver!
