An excellent gun, especially for the price. I bought this gun a few weeks ago as a back up to my Sigs and took it to the range a few days after it arrived. I shot 100 rounds through it just to get a feel for it and to see how well it shot. It did very well. Accuracy was great and since it is a double action only It's trigger pull is right in the middle of my Sig P250C (double action only) and my Sig P229R (double/single). I would say it requires about 6 lbs. of pressure and has a medium distance pull. It is not as safe as my Sig 250C with it's long distance pull and about 8 lbs. of pressure but still safer than a cocked double/single action pistol. Overall it is a very nice gun. my only complaint as a left-hand shooter is that it needs to be made ambidextrous.

Very nice quality gun. Fits my hand very well.
I've fired about 500 rounds through it so far with no problems.
I just wish that it had a manual safety.

Buds was great; very fast shipment and no issues.

Only a couple hundred rounds but very satisfied with the SD9. Trigger pull is very long but doesn't stop me from hitting good groups. I'll take the long pull over mechanical safety then there's no question that it's ready to go. The 16 round double stack gun may be a little much to carry and might have to get something thinner. This one is a keeper though. Buds also gave me great price and delivery.

Received the gun last week, love how it looks and absolutely love how it fits in my hand. Took the SD9 out to the range the first weekend i got it, I'm very very happy with the gun! Shot over 200 Winchester White Box FMJ's and 50 Federal FMJ rounds through it so far and had no ftf's or ftl's! The shells ejected at a good angle, gun is light, trigger feels very nice although it could be a little shorter. But since it doesn't hurt the performance of shooting it in my opinion there isn't any room to complain since the price of this gun is unbeatable for the quality of a Smith & Wesson gun!

UPDATE: taken the sd9 3 times since initial review and have had none of the previously mentioned problems. The ftfs were in the second and third mags through the gun and has not happened again in 200 rounds. It does not eject the shells at funny angles anymore either. Still have no idea what the issue was there but has not happened since my first trip. It took a little getting used to but I'm very very happy with the gun now.

Overall, not very impressed. The gun fits in my hand well and looks great but there a few things I do not like. First, trigger pull- ridiculously long in my opinion. Second, the direction at which the shell ejects. I have not shot many guns but I would think that the general idea is for the casing to be ejected away from the shooter. I had casings hit me in the forehead, land on my head and a 2 made it in my shirt. Big negative for me. And lastly, Could not get 16 rounds in the mag. Best I could do was 15. That is not a big deal in my opinion though. Oh, and had 2 FTE and 1 FTF (out of +-140 rounds fired) at the only range trip I have made. I do not how big of a difference it makes but I just shot cheap $10/box ammo so that may be a contributing factor to the misfires. I cannot speak on its accuracy because I am pretty bad show as of now. I can say that the sights are rather big and the front sight is quite bright in dark conditions.

Buds was good. After all the stellar shipping reviews I had read I was excited about a 3-4 day turn around but it took almost 2 weeks from ordering to receiving pistol. In their defense, I had changed payment method AND it was shortly after the SHOT show.

Hope this helps

I ordered this pistol from Bud's Gun Shop a few weeks ago, and I must say that I am completely satisified with it, as well as the excellent service provided by Bud's Gun Shop. I will say, however, that UPS was supposed to send it to me by 2nd Day Air, and it made it on time and was out for delivery and it never came. All of a sudden, 2nd Day Air turned into 5 Day Air because my pistol "mysteriously" wound up all the way across the country and had to travel back to me.
