Ordered my gun on Sunday and received it on Wednerday. Great service from Buds. The kimber is a beautiful looking firearm. Took it to the range and fired 50 rounds without any problems . The crimson trace laser sight is great. Will use this firearm as my ccw. Thanks Kimber for a great gun and thanks Buds Guns for great service

I have been shooting for a long time and have retired from a large state police organization after 30yrs of service. This weapon is the most accurate and effort free weapon to fire right out of the box. I have primarily been carrying a Glock for most of that time and had a Glock as well for off duty. I need to say that at first I was a bit concerned because I had several jams at first, but after contacting Kimber and speaking with other gun owners, found that it would take several hundred rounds to break in. My first time out qualifying I had several chambering issues. At that point I had put about 300rds through it. I know have put about 600 rds through it and it is working flawlessly. I use it in IDPA with confidence and it is so sweet to shoot and never a heavy workload on your grip....Really a great concealed carry weapon....the Crimson Trace is Awsome !

After a comedy of errors by my hometown FFL finally received this weapon from Bud's. Thanks Gurney for your patience and understanding during this debacle.

Retrieved gun and took it home and cleaned it. Checked laser site and found inside of 5 yards aim point low, to be expected, out beyond 5 yards aim point dead on, meaning point is just below top of front site.
Took to range same day and fired 200 rounds of: Magtech 230gr SWC, RWS 230gr FMJ, Winchester 230gr FMJ and Lawman 200gr +P FMJ.

No feeding or firing issues with all ammo except the Lawman +P, first 3 shots all produced fail to feed problem. Maybe just needs more break in or possibly different mags (have 3 Wilson Combat officer clips on the way). Note: Kimber mag was not bad at all, I've heard a lot of bad things about them but, this one is well made and I had no obvious issues with it.

Trigger is excellent for me, maybe a little less pull than a stock Colt Government model.
Accuracy was a big surprise. I started out at about 20 feet and worked my way out to 75 feet, did not buy this gun for long distance shooting so 75 feet would be max I would ever go with it. For a 3 inch barrel this is a very accurate shooter. An average shooter with a steady grip and good trigger control should have no issues with 2-4 inch groupings at 25 yards. Shot mostly open site but did also check laser and it was dead on too.

Field stripping is different for me, I'm used to Colts, HK's and Sigs. Getting the slide lock out while trying to hold the slide in place against a very strong re-coil spring is no joy. Hopefully with more practice and more break in the slide lock will get easier to remove. Other than that take down is similar to most 1911's.

Gun is a 5 out of 5, fit and finish excellent. To modify one of my stock Colts to the spec's of this Kimber would cost between 800-1500 dollars. Perfect for CCW if you want a 1911 style carry.

Thanks Bud's
