Kimber Pro TLE/RL II 45 7rd 4 - 7 Rounds

First off Buds is awesome and always has been. I don’t usually do reviews but felt I had to with this one. I’ve owned over 20 1911s And this by far is one of my favorites. Gave it a good cleaning and took it straight to the range. I put over 500rds through it and only cleaned it at the 200rd mark and let me tell you this gun make a statement. Dead on accurate. I ran good quality ball ammo as well as HPs through it and it ate it all up. I even fired very dirty low quality Yugoslavian ammo through this thing and it just chuckled and asked for more. Can’t say enough good things about this gun. Really glad that Kimber went to a stainless barrel. Break in? Who needs a break in? This pistol ran flawlessly. You will not be disappointed with this gun. Fit and finish is perfect. I would even say it’s right up there with some of my higher end 1911s but for way cheaper. Great firearm with great results. Why are you even thinking about it? Just buy it. Happy shooting!

I have been buying Kimbers since 2009 and have had a lot of them. I never had one with a rail and wanted a pistol with a rail light for bumps in the night out here in the boonies. I have a stainless TLE Pro that I had bobtailed that is super accurate and one of my favorite carry pistols so this seemed like a no brainer. After field stripping it I took it outside for a test firing. At 15 and 20 yards it was pretty accurate but the trigger felt heavy but it shot 50 rounds reliably. I took it in and checked the trigger pull with a Lyman digital scale and kept coming up with 3 pull averages of 6.5#'s. Even though Kimber says their triggers are 4-5 pounds I have found that usually they are about 5.5#'s, sometimes less but not often. I cleaned it again and put in a 19# mainspring and it pulled at about 5.4#'s. I took it out and put 200 more rounds through it and it ran 100% again and was much more accurate. I am waitng for a 17# spring to arrive and hope that will bring trigger pull down to a little less than 5#. The only other thing I have found on this particular pistol is that the slide to frame fit is noticably loose and can be wiggled slightly side to side by hand. A trusted gunsmith once told me that a little slide to frame movement was not that big a deal concerning accuracy that tight barrel lock up made the most difference and I have found him to be right more than once. And this pistol is accurate. All said, I am very satified with the pistol, it looks great and shoots great and I would by it again if need be.I
