I say this is a good value basic military 1911.
The good: First time at the range, it had no firing failures using cheap Tula steel case ammo. This gun is fitted very well and tight. There is no wiggle between the slide and frame, shake it and no rattles. The finish is nice and I love the dark red U.S. Logo grips Trigger has a little take up and then a crisp break
The not so good: Everything in the frame was gritty at first. Trigger was very crunchy, grip safety crunched, and magazine release crunched. Before firing it, I did do a field strip and cleaned well and that helped but sticking your finger inside the mag well, you could feel all kinds of grit like it was assembled after dropping parts in metal dust. No excuse for that. After firing and cleaning a second time, 90% of the crunchiness was gone. Trigger and mag release is still a bit gritty. I worked and oiled the mag release about a 1000 times and it smoothed out. Before that the mag would catch about 3/4 in and have to be slammed shut and would not drop free. After hand working it a bunch, it does now and I am satisfied. It is fitted so tight that disassemble and assembly is kind of a pain but that should loosen up as break in occurs.
With any budget but good value gun, I don't expect it to be perfectly hand fitted and finished out of the box. After a little working and cleaning I am really happy with it and would recommend it for a nice basic 1911.
