92A1: Legendary 92 Reliability with Ultra-Modern Tactical Features

The "A1" class is a specialized tactical branch of the most tested and trusted military and personal defense weapon in history: the 92FS. We started with the super-reliable 92, keeping the engineering characteristics that make it so accurate, safe and dependable; then, we added some features prized by today’s most demanding tactical shooters as well as by those wanting the absolute best for home defense or personal protection. The result is the 92A1, a pistol that is as reliable for its intended use as it is safe and user-friendly even for the novice.

Easy Accessorization and Maintenance

The most noticeable difference between the classic 92FS and the 92A1 is that this comes with an integral Picatinny rail situated in front of the trigger guard. The rail makes it easy to attach a variety of tactical accessories, including lighting systems and laser aiming devices. Also, the 92A1 has a removable front sight, meaning that you can exchange it in a matter of minutes without any gunsmithing or alteration to the pistol. Maintenance is easy thanks to the tool-free disassembly latch as well as the captive recoil-spring unit.

Impressive Firepower, Extra-Durable Magazines

Another feature that will impress you about the 92A1 is the type of magazine it comes with. This pistol comes with three 17-round stainless steel magazines designed to deliver remarkable firepower out of the box while being absolutely durable and corrosion resistant. Furthermore, the magazines on the 92A1 feature a “dirt rail” along their length, which helps collect dust and grit out of the magazine while keeping cartridges clear of the magazine walls. The result: enhanced feeding reliability and super-easy magazine maintenance. In addition, the magazine well is aggressively beveled, making it super-fast to change magazines without taking your eyes off the target.

Absolutely Reliable, Designed to Last

The base design of the 92A1 is the 92FS or M9, the pistol that has served the US military admirably throughout its campaigns in the world’s toughest environments. But even in this respect, Beretta never rests on its laurels. This pistol incorporates an innovative internal frame buffer that greatly reduces component stress under firing (yes, even with hot +P ammo), making it even more durable and smooth-shooting. The best of both worlds, the 92A1 offers discriminating shooters the classic overall look and feel of the 92 (including the more traditional rounded trigger-guard) with today’s most advanced tactical features.

First, I sometimes see negative reviews for Buds. I have purchased NUMEROUS firearms from Buds and never had one single problem with them. They are very competitive in their pricing and do a great job. Maybe these bad reviews are being posted by the competition?

The 92A1 is a phenomenal weapon. Very accurate out of the box. Mine was made in Italy and the craftsmanship is obvious. Fit and finish are excellent.

I upgraded from a Ruger SR9 - there is no comparison. The Beretta wins hands down. It's worth the extra money. Accuracy is much better because of the longer barrel and diminished recoil. The weapon weighs quite a bit more than other handguns and is all metal.

First class weapon. Get one!

I picked up the pistol yesterday, brought it home and cleaned it up, stripped it and cleaned it and took it out for a test run.
It is Italian made and the fit and finish is very nice. The three 17 round mags are very good and loading was pretty easy. I mostly shoot 1911's and find the 17 rounders also alot of fun.
The pistol ran perfectly and was pretty accurate. With the big mags I found that I had run through over 200 rounds very quickly and without one malfunction. I am very satisfied with the new Beretta.

The downside is that the trigger is very heavy and there are alot of plastic parts on the pistol. I don't like the plastic guide rodwith captive spring much or the plastic trigger. I have already ordered the metal trigger and Elite hammer from Beretta and all new springs from Wilson plus their metal fluted guide rod and slim grips. I have a Beretta Compact set up like this and it shoots MUCH better and is more accurate. The metal trigger has a better feel and no flex and the springs and hammer helped change the trigger pull on the Compact from a little over 6# single action and 10# double action to 4.2#'s and 8#'s. A huge difference.
It is a little agrivating that gun company's these days use a few inferior parts on they firearms but then they and other companys sell after market parts to bring the weapons up to what they should have been in the first place, for a price. In this case turning a $700 pistol into a $1000 pistol. But, it is what it is. In any case I am very happy with the purchase and will be even happier with it after the upgrades.

Hats off to Buds for handling my trade deal which enabled me to buy this fine Beretta.
The gun arrived with a small but noticeable and very visible scratch on the slide. Not a huge deal to me because I bought this gun to be a shooter, but if I was a nitpicker I might have returned it for that reason. I had heard that many of the Italian made 92s arrived with scratches from the factory, and the rumor was true in this case. The nice cardboard box/sleeve that comes on the plastic hard case was also pretty well battle scarred.

Other than that, I'm very happy with this pistol. Three 17 round magazines and a dovetailed front sight were the deal maker for me on this one.

I won't review the actual gun here because you can get complete reviews of this gun ina million places online, but as far as the transaction, Buds gets an A+

Fairly priced, seems to be typical high quality Beretta, a little disappointed to see a few metal flakes in the gun on initial disassembly, however gun looks/shoots fine.

As usual with any imported gun it's incredibly oily in the box. But exactly what I was expecting, and glad to see 3 magazines. Buds shipped quick. My streamlight fitting for 1913 doesn't seem to work, but the glock fitting is snug enough, no rattle.

This was my first firearm purchase as well as my first purchase from Bud's. I've fired other pistols before but nothing like this. The accuracy of this gun is superb. I know any shots that end up off target are due to my error, not the gun. It's very easy to clean and the action is really smooth. The recoil buffer works so well that recoil is almost non existent. The 17 round mags give you plenty of time at the range without reloading. The only negative things that I have to say about this gun are that if you have small hands it will be difficult for you to hold it. I would try to examine the gun at a local shop to make sure it fits your hand before you purchase online. The initial double action trigger pull requires a lot of pressure but is very smooth. I plan on upgrading to the Wilson Combat 16# D spring. Also, the 17 round mags mean you will burn through ammo very quickly. I've put 350 rounds through it so far with no issues. If you're thinking about purchasing this gun, don't think just do it. I can't recommend it enough. Thanks Bud's!

After my ex-Marine son told me he carried a Beretta 9mm while on active duty, I was sold. I had previously owned a .40 cal. PX4 Storm which I loved, but had to sell it for financial reasons. I love the way Beretta feels, its looks, and I can't wait to find a range to put some lead through it.

I had recently purchased a used US made M9 Beretta that I was very happy with and wanted an Italian made Beretta 92. Really wanted the option to change out the sights so went with the 92A1 version of this pistol. Used the make offer option and ordered the pistol.

On arrival was somewhat disappointed but knew it would arrive in a cheaply make blue plastic box with the pudding cup. But the pistol itself was beautiful. Took it out and it shot great. Trigger was very heavy in double action and somewhat gritty in single action compared to my M9. That was repaired by replacing the trigger spring with one from Wilson Combat. Also changed out a few of the polymer coated metal parts with steel only parts and put in a Beretta Elite II hammer. The hammer change made a difference in the single action pull. Must have been something on the old hammer notch.

Just waiting on my Wilson fiber optic sights to come in. This pistol deal is extra nice in the fact it comes with 3 - 17 round magazines. But don't just toss the mag loader in the closet. The springs in these mags are not like Mecgar mags. They are strong. You will need the loader to fully load these. Hoping they will loosen up a little over time. All in all it is a great pistol.
