Concealed Carry Pistol is a single-stack 9mm handgun that uses a gas delayed blowback system that Walther calls the SoftCoil system. SoftCoil system significantly reduced recoil but maintains a recoil spring that is soft for easy manipulation of the slide. SoftCoil system reroutes gas pressures which allows for the light spring and uses a non-tilting barrel instead of a tilting barrel which is typical to a Browning-type system used in many modern handguns. Striker-fired pistol and it has a 5.5 pound trigger pull. Manual thumb safety. Black polymer frame. Slide serrations front and rear. Ambidextrous magazine release.

Great handgun. Extremely mild recoil, great ccw gun. Very nice gun to teach with, the mild recoil and good feel in the hand enhance confidence in shooters and aid in building accuracy.

While the CCP is a fine functioning firearm that shoots well, I chose to rate it as average as the run of pistols that included mine required a recall. This is really inconvenient and takes away from my "experience" owning this gun. I've never had an issue with the functioning of the gun. The breakdown and reassembly of this pistol is unlike most modern firearms so, while not difficult, it is different.

I don't know why everybody cried about the disassembly process for this pistol, takes seconds, you can do it without the tool, this is a fine firearm, the most comfortable grip ever, melts into your hand, change the factory sights, they are nothing to brag about, after that, you got an outstanding pistol.

Received this item (Walther CCP 9MM) a couple of weeks ago. The first weekend, we took it to the range with great anticipation. We chose this gun for my wife to use because of the reported ease in operating the slide and its touted lighter recoil due to the gas bypass. My wife appreciated the ergonomics of the grip and was excited to try it. First round chambered smoothly and fired off nicely. Bullet placement at 10 yards indicated that the sights were right on, although they were not easy to see. The front and rear sights have white dots but they are deeply recessed and dim. After firing the first round the spent casing failed to eject (stovepipe). I thought the gun was just tight and needed to be worked out a bit. After 150 rounds fired this problem was still present. It happened on every round except for, maybe, 2 or 3. After we left the range I cleaned the gun thoroughly, including the extractor which appeared to be working correctly, the bypass piston and tube. We took it back to the range yesterday and met essentially the same results. I did have 3 rounds in a row that fired and ejected cleanly but every round before that sequence and afterwards failed to eject. We shot PMC and Federal brass and tried Tul Ammo steel cased in 115 and 124 gr. round-nosed jacketed. I had the Tul for my Taurus G2C and CZ Scorpion and they fired without issue. I will be sending the pistol back for Walther to hopefully fix. This has been the most disappointing fire arm purchase I have made. Even my Cougar .40 (with lousy sights) was better. Until Walther corrects the problem I wouldn't recommend this model CCP even to a masochist.

All the reviews you read online you always wonder if you made the right choice. The first time out with the Walther CCP about 300 rounds down range. We used all new loads federal, blazer, Winchester, and browning just to see if we could get the gun to misfire or FTE or stove pipe. Not one instance of any of the afore mentioned. Great gun easy to use my wife has very weak grip (due to arthritis) can very easily rack this gun. The only draw back might be the weight for a conceal carry gun, other than that it is a fun gun to shoot.

I like the fact that the pistol comes with 2 magazines instead of just one.

Buds = awesome. The Gun: SUPER ERGONOMIC, very comfortable in the hand. Points very well and natural. A great CC gun. Easy to work the slide. Bought for my wife who struggles working the slide on a Glock due to weak hand strength. She can run this gun no problem. German quality, pretty much flawless all around. Disassembly is a bear, again disassembly SUCKS! but take your time and practice, watch youtube and itll be fine. I like her...!

Overall, not happy with the firearm. I purchased this weapon for my mother who has arthritis is both hands. It was touted as a firearm that was easy to manipulate. It is that... but that's about all it has going for it.... grip is alright, sights are decent, but the trigger is horrible... definitely not something I was expecting from Walther. Not to mention... the gun requires a tool for it to be field stripped... ridiculous! Transaction with Buds was smooth as always but I wouldn't recommend this firearm... there are much better options out there. M. Peek LEO, firearms enthusiast and avid outdoorsman.

Love this gun. Feels great in your hand. Accurate, and easy to carry concealed.

Jon - If my memory is correct, the M2 version eliminated the need for a take down tool. According to the model number on this pistol, it is not an M2 version, but the basic CCP model. M2 versions have a model number in which the last three digits begin in "5", as in "5080501" ... The models with the last digits starting with a "3", as the model number (as on the pistol you referenced), are the "CCP" models.

It comes with two magazines and a lock. Interesting pistol design, really keeps the recoil down.
