CMMG 99A51DC MkG Guard AR Pistol Semi-Automatic 9mm Luger 8" 33+1 Polymer Black CMMG's MkG Guard is a AR15 chambered in 9mm. I've been in the market for an AR 9 and researching many options for a while. Settling on the CMMG Guard is the best choice that could be made. Although it is more expensive than many other options, you do get the Radial Delayed Blowback System which is only offered by CMMG. All others are just plain blowback systems. CMMG's system allows the bolt carrier group to be designed and behave like any other AR mil spec bolt groups. It also allows the upper assembly to utilize other AR mil spec components such as charging handles. The Guard is well made and quality is above average. The higher price is due to the patented blowback technology which makes sense. The only complaint I have is the pistol has sharp edges on the upper and lowers, as if CMMG didn't really take the time to smooth them out. This is especially true of the Keymod rail; it has very sharp edges and isn't very pleasant to grab onto. Other than that, this is an awesome pistol and shoots like a dream. I have the Holosun 510C red dot mounted and the Guard is very accurate. I believe this is the best AR9 on the market today.

Received the CMMG 99A51DC MkG Guard AR Pistol Semi-Automatic 9mm Luger. Everything looked great. I installed Magpul flip-up sights, did a thorough inspection, oiled it up, and headed to the range. Was able to sight it in quickly and put a couple hundred rounds through it. No problems whatsoever. This is a very fun gun to shoot. I set up some 8" plates at 25 yards- the accuracy was right on and the gun swings nicely through transitions. Had a ball with it. My only disappointment was the MagPul B.A.D. lever I wanted to install, will not work. I would need to do some modifications to the lower to be able use the B.A.D. lever. I am very satisfied with my purchase so this point. 200 rounds through it to date.

I received my Guard 2 days ago and put 300 rounds through it today. The firearm functions flawlessly. Overall I'm very happy with it. The radially delayed blowback system runs smoothly and recoil is much softer than a straight blowback 9mm AR. The mag release is especially nice and the last round bolt hold open works reliably. The finish on the upper/lower is milspec standard, not good not bad. The charging handle is milspec standard plain Jane. The factory trigger is also milspec standard. I replaced mine with a Geissele G2S-E and it works 100%. My biggest complaint with the Guard is the CMMG handguard. It's got some really sharp edges and IMO CMMG could do a lot better. Sending the handguards through a tumbler would really soften the edges and wouldn't cost them much. I'll probably change my handguard out for something smoother. Otherwise, I'd say the Guard is a good buy.

CMMG really did a nice job with the Guard. Second product from CMMG and I am very happy with both. Lightweight and balanced feel in your hands. Nice trigger for home defense, crisp but has resistance. They did a great job and for the quality of parts it was well worth the price.

This thing runs great, I bought this Friday and got to the range today, fired around 100 rnds with no issues at all, no jams, no misfires , I tried all the 9mm ammo I had which was federal, 115 gr jhp, 115 gr hp, 147 gr hp, and 124 gr hp +p, no issues at all, very gentle recoil even the +p wasn't bad at all, it's also very accurate, I held 3" groups at 25 yds standing position with red dot sights and open flip up sights, I purchased the tuning kit from cmmg that I thought I might need after reading some reviews but I didn't need to install it, I'm not sure what it's really needed for other than recoil,I should have shot it before ordering the kit but I have it now if it's ever needed, I love the way this thing handles and shoots, can't wait to get out and shoot some more
