This is a great little Derringer! For $99 I was curious, and I know some of the earlier incarnation of these from Davis(?) I think, were iffy. But when I first unboxed it the nice fit and finish was immediately noticeable.
After cleaning and oiling it I put in 2 snap caps (you don\'t want to dry fire these) and tried the cocking safety and trigger. Yes, like you\'ve read it\'s got a hard pull all around, but that\'s a good thing. Once you figure out the angle of the trigger it gets a lot easier. This is a little piece that you\'re going to want to really spend some time figuring out the controls on, but once you do it\'s all very second nature. An important thing to keep in mind that \"half cock\" is only half cock in name. This is the safe and normal resting position for the hammer. When you load it, make sure it\'s on half cock. When you carry it, make sure it\'s on half cock. When the hammer\'s fully down it\'s actually a post firing position and is dangerous on this gun. Ammo loaded without issue and the gun closed easily.
I may occasionally carry this, but I wouldn\'t recommend this for regular EDC unless it was part of a back up or you had a very specific reason to. It\'s actually kind of fun to shoot, so will likely wind up in my range bag more often then not.
