A truly beautiful fit and finish replica of the Colt 1872 open top conversion in .44 Special! By Uberti. Thank you to Bub’s for shipping to my dealer so promptly!

I've always wanted this gun. My father has had the original black powder type since I was in the 8th grade. (50 now, happy?) He keeps it in his living room unloaded, and has since he got it. Anyway, I've put a lot of miles on that gun, twirling around on my finger and doing quick draws from a holster. My version of a quick draw anyway. A few nicks in the coffee tables and marks on the barrell it has stood the test of time. And me too. This converted 1872 is so much better balanced. Easy to pull. Easy to shoot 200gr .44 special. Its a hog killer for sure. But it's funner just to yank and shoot. Of course using all safety practices for trouble free fun. Get one for yourself. If you don't like it, which you will, I'll take it off your hands. At a used gun purchase price, naturally.

I got one in .44 SPL. With 200 gr Blazer ammo it shoots about 1" high at 10 yd with about a 1" group. Trigger is good braking with a slight creep at about 4# guesstimated. The steel fit and finish is mostly good except for a few small scratches from rough handling during the mfg process and the end of the barrel was not beveled at all. They should have knocked off the sharp corner at least some, but its a SHARP 90 degrees. The cylinder had a tight spot when turned and this went away after i turned it about 50 times. The screw that holds the barrel wedge when tight barely blocks the barrel wedge at all. The front sight is overly thin and hard to see at all. Grips fit very well. No ignition trouble or case sticking issues. The brass grip frame was finished with a fine brush finish and no care was taken to have all the finishing lines going in the same direction. Also the brass has several light dings and gauges that should not be there. One scratch was obviously from a screwdriver that slipped during assembly. All in all Its a good gun and I like it ,shoots fine, but This one seems to have been rush built and quality control was lacking. Would I buy it again? Yes, but I would go with the steel grip frame as the brass condition was less than I expect from a new gun.
