Good product comes with 3 batteries and ear buds. I bought this primarily for watching TV at night without disturbing my wife. It performs well. You do get a whistle if you place your hand over it, but that's to be expected. The amplification is adjustable by the volume control and it can be adjusted TOO high so start with a low volume as they suggest. Also, I wanted to get an idea of how a hearing aid would feel. This item is not a hearing aid, but can help one hear better. I would not count on the high decibel noise suppression circuit in this unit for hearing protection. Overall, I'm very satisfied with it.
