Marlin is lucky to get two stars for this rifle.
First, the action was so stiff that when my FFL dealer was looking it over, out of interest, and worked the lever action he asked if I wanted to keep it or send it back, it was that bad.
When I get it to the range and start shooting the trigger pull is literally 9-10 pounds.
The aforementioned stiff action left a bleeding thumb and literally, not figuratively, I had to work the action with two hands.
I\'m a pretty good shot but never could get this sighted in properly.
I had read reviews and watched videos of others before buying this. I thought the Marlin line was finally good again, not mine.
Save a few extra dollars and add it to what you have and get a Henry.
I sold this rifle, from now on it\'s only Henry lever actions for me, or maybe try a Rossi.
Very disappointed in Marlin.

got it yesterday and took it out to the range, too many FTD and FTE. I don\'t recommend this gun to any one. called Marlin and the repair center said it will be minimum 4-6 week. I want to throw it in garbage it\'s very frustrating with a band new gun to do that.
as always buds service was great.

Great service from Buds, even paying with E-Check I had the rifle in 7 days form the time I ordered counting the weekend. As far as the \'94. Honestly the quality was better than expected. The wood is nice, fit and finish isn\'t as good as my older Marlins but still nice. The forend is thicker than older Marlins but feels good in my hand, would have been nice if they spent a little more time on the forend though. The stock is really nice! The action isn\'t as smooth as my Henry Bigboy Steel (same caliber) but again, better than I expected and I expect it\'ll get better after a few hundred rounds go through it. Took it to the range today and put about 100 rounds through it, had no malfunctions. Shoots low, had to adjust the rear sight all the way up but I plan on replacing the sights with Skinner sights anyway so no big deal, grouped well. Overall I\'m proud to add it to my collection and maybe it\'ll do its part in taking a deer this season.

My 1894 arrived yesterday and after a good inspection I had a chance to cycle ten rounds at the gun range.
The gun shoots very well and I had no problems at all. The action is smooth and the gun is accurate. The metalwork is excellent as is the fit of the stock. I'm happy.
I was surprised that Marlin does not include a scope mount and hammer spur with the gun.
As usual, Bud's was excellent to deal with. Great sellers.

On the scale of one to ten I would rate the rifle a ten . Nice wood and metal finish . No problems feeding or ejecting . Action smooth not rough . I would say Remington's Marlin of recent production has worked out all the bugs of the early ones buyers complained about . Owned one of the older Marlin 1894 s some 30 years ago and I like this new one better .

I bought one of these in 2011 because I had always wanted a Marlin 1894 in .44 magnum. I was extremely disappointed in the quality, particularly the fit of the stock to the receiver. It wiggled every time I shouldered it, so it made me feel like I had a really expensive paperweight. I eventually traded it for something else and hoped they would improve their quality. Received this new one today, and it looks like Remington has gotten their ship righted. Fit and finish is great and action is firm. It should loosen up with use, as the last one did. I'm glad I decided to try this one again, I'm very happy with Marlin and, as always, with Bud's customer service and shipping.

Very impressed with the fit and finish of this rifle. The lines and seams are tight and well fitting for a production fire arm. The rifle is surprisingly light for a lever action. I've always found them to be on the heavier side. But this one isn't so bad. Shoots straight and cycles the ARMSCOR 240gr ammo without a hitch. This gun scratches the itch I've had for years for a nice lever action rifle in a pistol caliber.

Fit and finish was very good, action was smooth and trigger was good for the kind of firearm it is. After nearly 100 rounds of ammo, there's been no failures to feed or any other issues. Overall excellent rifle and I'd purchase it again and from Buds.

Cycles well and ejects & reloads with no issues, nice factory bluing and fit & finish was well done, recoil is good but manageable. Only issues I had was the excessively stiff loading gate & sharp edges that made reloading a pain. I'm sure it'll loosen up with time, but I will be sanding the edges a bit. I would have enjoyed better sights, a thicker recoil pad, and a large hand loop like what's on the Marlin 1895SBL 45-70 SS/Laminate, but that's not a detractor from this rifle. I'll just upgrade a few things later. Overall I'm very satisfied with this Marlin.

First things first: Bud's Gun Shop is the best of the best! This was my 3rd purchase, and as always, they're the top of their game.
And you can't get this price ANYWHERE!

About the 1894. Love the gun. Smooth action, 10 capacity. Put a bit more oil on the woodwork, and you've got a great gun. I needed
a brush gun, and the shortness of it works perfectly. Plus it takes the same ammo as my .44 magnum revolver. All in all: it's a great gun.
And though many say that since Remington took over, Marlin went down hill, I don't think you can prove that with this rifle.
