I bought this as a gift for my bro,,, he loves it, says that the quality is great. . I think now, it's a little overpriced for a Marlin. I bought a total of 5 guns from buds, so far, I'm happy with all my purchases.

Beautiful rifle, shooting sub-1.5" groups at 100 yards with Sightron-I scope. Buds provided excellent service.

EXCELLENT VALUE! STOCK ADDS TO LOOKS PLUS CHECKERING IS SHARP FOR A GOOD GRIP. FLUTED BOLT IS SMOOTH & GETTING SMOOTHER AS IT BREAKS IN. TRIGGER WAS JUST RIGHT AS REC'D. MOUNTED A REFURB NIKON IN KEEPING WITH MY UTILITY RIFLE THEME. AFTER 50 RDS BREAK-IN, IT'S SHOOTING REMINGTON 125 GR. MANAGED RECOIL INTO 1.5" AT 100 YARDS CONSISTENTLY. ONLY DRAWBACK IS THE BLIND BOX MAGAZINE, BUT I'M GLAD MARLIN SPENT THEIR DOLLARS ON OTHER FEATURES. BUD'S WAS ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE-WITH VIP SERVICE, GUN WAS 4 DAYS, FROM ORDER TO SHOOTING.

overall a good gun but some of the basic cosmetic touches were bad. the butt pad was put on after the staining and finish of the stock and sanding / grinnding markes went all the way through to bear wood and looked terrible. I bought 2 guns for nephews and this was on both guns
