This model is chambered for Hornady's ground breaking 308 Marlin Express. It features a 24" stainless steel barrel, full pistol grip, and black/grey two tone laminated stock characteristic of all XLR models. Also features the Marlin signature solid top receiver with side ejection, adjustable folding semi-buckhorn rear sight, ramp front sight. Drilled and tapped for scope mount. Includes an offset hammer spur for scope use

Absolute dream to own it finally! It's tight with great looks not too forget the 24" stainless barrel looked flawless. Still not convinced to mount a scope as iron sights hitting marks leaves me weightless in the field. Great Team Buds service once again!

Very accurate lever gun. I scoped it with a 6-18 power Tasco I had laying around, and took it to the range. After a few break in rounds I sighted it in at 100 yards, and was able to put three rounds into a 3/4 inch group. I didn't have any of the issues I read about on line (barrel droop or on crooked). There was a small amount of corrosion on the lever that cleaned right off with a fine scrubby pad, and half of the loading gate attachment screws head was broken off. (Marlin sent a replacement screw free of charge). There was also a few burrs that weren't cleaned up around the barrel attachment point. I like this gun a lot, but do feel a gun in this price range should not have left the factory with these defects.

Unbelievable accuracy and range for a lever gun. I bouht this rifle to hunt deer in PA, and took two at about 175 yards with no holdover. The deer were in a heavily wooded spot so it was like threading a needle - no problem with this Marlin. It is a pleasure to shoot and a beautiful rifle as well. I mounted a Nikon scope on it with a BDC reticle and used Nikon's Spot On ballistics program to map out the trajectory. I could not be more pleased. Great price from Buds too!

Very sweet shooting rifle. Killed a doe at 490 yards in Nebraska, October, 2010. A package deal with Hornady Lever action ammo. Not just a brush gun good for 300 yards. Would recommend for anyone shooting out to 500 yards using a scope.
