Sig Sauer always builds quality firearms ... and this one is no exception. Excellent workmanship ... everything fits tight and solid - as it should for a weapon that costs close to $2K. Overall the rifle is "solid". This is a grey rifle ... not black. So if you are averse to black, then this is the rifle for you. I actually prefer black ... the Sig Sauer grey tends to show marks and scuffs easily. But Sig Sauer does not make the Virtus Patrol in black ... only other option is FDE. The hand-guard is very large ... something that I have not seen on an AR-15 before. That will take some getting used to ... but it provides a lot of surface area to get a firm grip on the rifle. The hand-guard is along the full length of the barrel ... another plus ... as is the top picatinny rail. I prefer picatinny rails for mounting accessories ... but Sig Sauer has gone with M-Lok, which requires purchasing the mounts. I truly like that the rifle is a gas-piston operated rifle. Operation is butter smooth. Shoots like a dream. I did find that switching the gas piston valve from suppressed to un-suppressed and back is very difficult. Takes a lot of finger pressure in a confined space. Overall I highly recommend this Sig Sauer rifle ... it is constructed very well ... like a tank.
