First, Buds is a great place to shop for guns, ammo, and gear. Second, The Sig516 is an awesome rifle! I put over 1500 rounds through it so far and not one FTE or FTF. I was very impressed with all aspects of it. I was impressed at how clean the rifle stayed as well. If your worried about reliability then this rifle is the one to have. Its worth the extra money. I received my gun from the local FFL store. I checked it in the store and there was no damage on the box and the gun was still in perfect condition. I paid the transfer fee and took the gun home. One of the 1st things I noticed was that the stock was a much lighter color than the color of the rest of the gun. It is not different to camouflage the rifle, just much lighter. I then unpacked the gun and disassembled it. The adjustable gas system was a great addition and is easy to adjust and clean. The fit of the parts, the clean mar free finish with no tool marks anywhere and tightness of the gun are what you would expect from Sig. The bad part was the trigger. I put the gun back together and tested the trigger and it was HARD. I put the scale on it and it was over 10 lbs. After paying almost $1,800.00 for this weapon, I was amazed that the trigger was this hard. I took it apart again to insure that nothing was broken of misaligned. It was all fine, just hard to pull. I put a very small amount of gold grease on the sear areas and tried it again. The trigger now pulled an average of 9.5 to 9.8. I woud have thought Sig would have out a much better trigger system in besides a mil-spec trigger. The FFL Dealer I use was great and made sure I was in and out fast. Very good service. I have not taken the gun to the range yet, and I am not expecting any issues there. I feel that the 2 issues, the color of the butt stock and the trigger pull, should not occur on such an expensive weapon.

Love this rifle. I got the generation 2, which comes with a sig pistol grip and an ARK Defense stock, instead of Magpul products. The pistol grip wasn't my favorite because it's thick, but the stock is excellent. The stock has a thick cheek weld that is super comfortable and has almost no play on the buffer tube. ARK Defense has a contract to supply these stocks on new SIG rifles. Came with a black PMAG and a 3-point sling, as well as a pack of FDE rail ladders. The rifle itself is excellent. The short-stroke piston system keeps the bolt carrier cool and clean. Performs like a champ. I've only put about 450 rounds through it but haven't had an issue of any kind. Great job SIG!

I got my 516 the other day and I have put 200 rounds in it with no problems, This gun is light and looks good. The only bad thing I found is I am going to be buying a lot of ammo. ps my gun did take like 2 weeks to get to me but now I have it would do it again

This Sig 516 made all my DI AR's obsolete! Out of the box: Not heavy at all. Quality is outstanding. cleaned once, oiled the bolt assy and gas rod. the gun shot every type of ammo I fed it(good 5.56 and various cheap steel 223 without a single malfunction). After about 500 rounds bolt still clean and oiled! All the BS about DI vs piston- the piston has the best of AR platform(accuracy) with the reliablilty of the AK.
