The Steyr Mannlicher Zephyr II is the rebirth of the original Zephyr rifle, which was produced from 1955 through 1971. This new rifle takes cues from the original Zephyr’s build quality, and also sets new standards in the hunting-style, bolt-action, rimfire rifle segment. It features a classic European walnut stock with a Bavarian cheek piece and fish scale checkering. The Zephyr II has a tang safety, detachable 5-round box magazine, The cold hammer forged barrel with Mannox finish make for tough, reliable design that will withstand the elements while out in the field.

I was disappointed with this rifle and sold it unfired. The bolt was rough on closing. Several pin head-sized places had no finish, leaving tiny white dots like metal in the white. But most irritating was circular machine marks from the cutting process. This is not what I expected from Steyr. No doubt, these were small flaws. But I can get flaws at half the price.

I love this thing. It is the finest made 22WMR I have ever seen. Fit and finish is perfect and it performs. Took it to the range and shot it using 4 different types of ammunition. It shot sub dime size groups with all 4 brands, BUT. All 4 brands grouped in different locations. I recommend you pick one brand and stick with it.
