I have had this rifle for a while now. During that time I have replaced the stock for an HS precision and the trigger for a Timney. Before the changes this rifle would shoot slightly over MOA with 168gr SMK handloads. With the changes it consistently shoots sub MOA. Pretty good from my perspective for a production bolt gun with a standard hunting profile barrel.

Great gun. Looks nice and was shipped super fast. I put a Zeiss scope on it and am looking forward to sighting it in. It's Remington quality at a good price.

You can not go wrong with a remington 700. Chambered in .308 was the best choice for myself, due to its versitility and ease of accessibility. Buds was fast and very imformative. A great buy!

Buds service was great and so is the stainless 700 sps .308 I ordered. It was sighted in in only 5 shots. I have not shot it for groups because it is still being broken in but initial results appear to be around 1in at 100yds. This is just what I wanted in my deer rifle, weather resistent and accurate.

Let me start this by saying I have never given a review of anything before. I feel compelled to do so with this gun. I have owned countless rifles over the years, including other versions of the Remington 700, but have never seen one so accurate out of the box for anywhere near this price. My first outing with this gun gave a best 3 shot group of 9/16ths of an inch and worst of 3/4ths using federal's 168grn Sierra match king. When I bought the rifle I had planned on needing to buy a better stock that would provide better bedding for the action, and honestly didn't expect much out of this gun due to it's stock that doesn't even provide a proper free-float to the barrel. I'm sure glad I decided to see how it shot first. As far as buds everything was great as usual. This was my first purchase since signing up for VIP and with the fast-track I had this rifle in my hands within a couple days of placing the order.

The rifle is pretty nice, the stainless finish and jeweled bolt look great. The stock is VERY light so recoil is a bit stiff. If you are a hunter who likes to stalk, this thing is perfect. If you hunt from a stand, buy a Boyds Dakota laminate stock and the recoil is a lot less. I'm giving the gun 4 stars, but sorry, Bud's guns is only 2 stars. Placed my order on 02/02/2011 and didn't get my rifle till 02/20/2011 The service just gets slower and slower, there was nobody answering the phones, nor was there anyone responding to live chat. It sat at pending for 8 days, then sat at shipping for 8 more. It was sent 2nd day air, so once they finally quit farting around it got to me quick enough, but over 2 weeks to get it out the door is not acceptable. I'll pay an extra 20-40 dollars if I get good service, so I don't plan on buying from Bud's unless I have a month to wait or they are A LOT cheaper than anyone else. I've bought several guns from them, and each time it's been a longer and longer wait.

Nice gun: smooth action and 1-inch groups at 100 yards using relatively inexpensive ammo.

The bad: mine had some light rusting on the barrel -- not what I expected from a new gun, particularly a stainless-steel gun. Since I paid cash for it, rather than credit card, I don't figure Buds will be falling all over themselves to replace it for me.

Received great service from Buds. The gun shoots and looks great. Although the actual guns stainless looks a bit more matte than in the photo.
