Based on the fantastic history of the FN Special Police Rifle SPR A1, the FNH SPR A5M XP delivers the ultimate on-target precision for the long-range marksman or tactical rifle shooting competitor. It features a forged receiver with an integral recoil lug for rock solid stability and amazing accuracy. It includes a MIL-STD 1913 picatinny style optics rail with 20 MOA of elevation built in. This SPR showcases a phenomenally accurate threaded barrel that is cold hammer-forged and chrome-lined with a recessed target crown. It has a detachable tactical Box Magazine and an ambidextrous magazine release. The intuitive operations include a Model 70 style adjustable 2 stage trigger, 3 position safety and an oversized bolt handle. The McMillan Stock is adjustable for length of pull and has an adjustable cheekpiece. It has textured grip handles and 6 Quick Detach QD sling mount positions. I don’t know what else to say about this rifle other than it is simply amazing. With my hand loads, I was shooting .19 groups at 100 and consistently shoot 1/2 moa or less out to 600. I know it’s not an AI, but for far less than half the money, it hangs with any other tactical style rifle out there. Could not recommend more.

I have used this rifle 3 times over the past 3 summers at a precision long range marksmanship program and have performed very well. Being old school I have stayed away from the new modular/skeletonized stocks even when they reduce the weight and overall length quite a bit. The FN A5M is heavy and a clunker but out performed most other shooters that were more skilled and experienced than myself. Each year I have been at the top of my class and I owe those results to my rifle. I think it is a combination of the cold hammered hard chrome bore and the McMillan stock. I have the mid priced Vortex scope and Harris bipod on it and always use Federal Sierra GMM 168 grain ammunition. The set up beats them all I have run against and I could not be happier. I would not use this rifle to hunt but in .308 it is the best in tactical and range use out to 1300 yards with the sweet spot 600-800 yards. I bought mine several years ago before the price came down due to decreased demand because of the new skeletonized chassis so if you want a .308 tactical bolt sniper rifle at an excellent price get this one and you are set.
