This Ruger American 22wmr seems to be made well. It's convenient bolt removal makes cleaning very easy. Accuracy is good but seems to vary with different ammunition and when the barrel starts to get really warm. With a cold barrel it's dead on with open sights. Didn't have to adjust the sights at all. So far I would recommend this rifle. I've only shot 20 rounds through it but no problems at all.

Excellent rifle. Has become my go to for varmint hunting hands down. Very accurate.

Buds service excellent. I have been very pleased with this rifle. Strong points of rifle include sights, sling bolts, accurate shooting, ease of cleaning. I like the compact size for tractor cab/truck, my long arms take a few seconds longer to get on target but that is not a problem on 4 legged critters.

What can I say but it's a Ruger and it is one fine piece of fine craftsmanship.
I would have preferred a wood stock but the price would jump so I'm happy as hell with the composite one that's on it.
I put an old weaver K-4 on it and it's a rat killer out to a hundred yards .I had a slew of 22 WRM CCI ammo from years ago and I mean long ago the price tag said $3.89 for 50 rounds.
And every round fed and fired perfect. I picked up two more Ruger 9 round clips just to keep this compact rifle at the ready.
The trigger pull is clean crisp and smooth and one other thing that really impressed me on this rifle was the barrel. I run a cleaning patch down her and took a peek and it looked like diamond cut sparkle's from chamber to the muzzle. It's got a short barrel but it's pretty heavy and dead on shot after shot. I'M seriously looking at the 22 Long rifle in this same model and I already have four or five other 22 rifles. I truly believe you can't go wrong if you buy one of these Ruger American.

A fine gun that, despite my intentions when buying, mainly sits in the safe. Is not the gun’s fault. A man needs a .22 mag no matter how often it gets shot. This is a good one to have

This is a fun little gun, I have never owned a Mag and I love it. Get one, you'll be glad you did!

First off Buds Guns is great. So is Ruger. Just not over impressed with the feeding. 1st round i tried to chamber jammed up. Being a straight walled cartridge, the lip where the case meets the bullet catches at the bottom of the chamber. The .17 probably feeds perfect. I had to remove a small amount of material with a rotory tool to make a "feed ramp." This happened with both Hornady and CCI ammo. Ruger has always given me the impression of over building things, which i like. The rifle doesn't feel cheap. Just the feeding issue is a little disappointing on a brand new rifle using 2 good names in ammo.

This is a great little rifle. The free floated barrel makes it very accurate. I am able to shoot 1 inch groups at 100 yards all day long. I put a bi-pod and a cheap BSA rimfire scope on it and could not be happier. This Makes it an excellent varmint or survival rifle. Action is very smooth and the box magazine that comes with this rifle is well made and functions flawlessly.

Light weight and well built. Nice trigger, no need to adjust. Unlike competition, comes with iron sights and bolt easier to remove and install. Not sure if I will add a scope later, feels good without it. Quick shipping, thanks.

Length of pull is 12.50" in the standard configuration, the insert in the back of the stock can be switched out with other longer options since it uses Ruger's Modular Stock System. https://www.ruger.com/products/americanRimfireCompact/specSheets/8323.html

Eve, No this barrel is not a pencil barrel. It is a tapered medium weight barrel.

You could probably fire a 17 HMR in a 22WMR chamber but you may have split cases and there would be zero accuracy and serious safety considerations
