The carbine was returned to Auto-Ordnance/Kahr for repair shortly after taking possession of it. The cut of the inside of the stock was at an angle, placing the barrel at an angle in the far right side of the stock's barrel channel. The handguard fit properly at the front, rear and left side. The right side of the handguard extended out past the stock by about 1/8th of an inch. The sharp edge of the right side of the handguard is exposed to damage and sharp enough that it can cut the hand during firing.

The cut of the stock forward of the barrel band is not like any other M1 Carbine stock other than those being used by Auto-Ordnance during the time this one was manufactured. Their prior stocks were cut like all other carbine stocks. This one, the front of the stock is somewhat squared off as opposed to rounded. As a replica of the M1 Carbine this detracts from the appearance of the AutoOrdnance carbine. Kind of a basic no brainer that should have been unacceptable to their quality control, assuming the issue was at whoever manufactured the stock.

I am completely satisfied with my Carbine, feeds and fires a long list of different ammo with no problems, my only complaint is you have to insure the mag is seated with a solid slap on the bottom or a good strong push, this could be why a person would have feeding and firing problems, also a very accurate carbine with a high fun factor!

The service I received from Buds was once again great! After receiving the rifle I took it to the range. This is where the problems began. The rifle had trouble loading from the magazine to the chamber. Constant misfeeds and jams. When I was able to get off a round, the rifle was accurate. I called Auto Ordinance and told the service advisor the problem. He told me it was the ammo. I was told to use US made ammo only. I asked if he could give an example of a recommended ammo. I was told he could not endorse any ammo. I kept trying to find out even a hint of a good ammo, he refused. So I used some of my American ammo just to test the feed. A little better, but I won't know for sure until my next trip to the range. I did a little research and found the same complaint from other M1 Auto Ordinance owners. This is the first rifle I ever bought that required a break in period. I would never use it for self protection. I can't depend on it. I'll use on of my other weapons.
